Geothermal system
8/4/04: Geothermal heating, air conditioning, hot water.
  1. Very efficient in heating mode since heat is extracted from ground water instead of by burning fuel. About 1/2 energy consumption and 1/2 cost of oil or gas. Hot water can be generated in heating mode more efficiently than regular electric water heater, much more efficient than hot water built into an oil boiler.
  2. Especially efficient in air conditioning mode since ground water is much cooler than outside air and the heat is placed into the hot water tank instead of just thrown away outside.
  3. Electric power to operate system is from more diversified fuel sources (<3% of US power generation is from oil).
  4. Green power can be purchased for totally renewable, sustainable, emissions free operation.
