This started out as a NR
molga model. The
construction pieces are from some 1/72 scale toys. I removed the head
and front armor, replacing them with a new cab, and the bulldozer
blade. That cab took allot of chopping and splicing to fit. Next I
replaced the wheels with a set of twin rim tractor wheels, and included
a pair of fenders as well. I replaced the middle of the body with a
scraper unit, this still has some of the molga feet attached to the
bottom. The tail guns were replaced with a heavy plow, which can be
positioned up or down..
This was topped off with aluminum metelizing lacquer paint, then
3
layers of Fusion "sunbeam yellow". I hate this paint, as it
changes
color as it drys, taking on the color of the plastic beneath, even with
primers! While the yellow was soft I scrapped and chip it down to the
metal, this has no dry brushing. Then a misting of "earth brown", a
layer of real mud, and a dark gray wash.
When wound up, the model moves great, in fact it's a bit more
animated the the original, as I'd changed the angles of the mid section
a bit.
