YU league 2001/2002. statistics

    Yugoslav volleyball league 2001/'02. was certainly the most exciting one in last several years. Many things were unknown even until the last round, for example, who will be second, third and fourth on the standings table. At the end, Vojvodina came up to be the greatest disappointment, finishing as 5th. Anyway, here are some numbers:

    In 18 rounds (90 matches) there were 336 sets played, which makes an average of 3,733 sets per game. The round with most sets played was 4th - 22 sets, with even 3 tie-breaks, and the rounds with least were 8th and 12th - only 16 sets.
    Host teams won 52 matches (57%), while visitors won 38 (42%). The most frequent scores were 3:0 (22 times), 3:1 (21) and 0:3 (20). There were 17 tie-breaks of which hosts won 9, and visitors 8.

    Team stats: Crvena zvezda made the most aces (points from serve) - 99 ; Partizan was the most successful team in points from block - 219 , while Vojvodina and Budvanska rivijera had the most attack points achieved (838 and 837).
    The best streak was made by Budvanska riv. - 9 consecutive wins (and counting), and VGSK, which is demoted to 2nd division lost its first 12 matches.

    The most effective servers were Vasiæ and Janiæ (both from Crvena zvezda) with 24 and 23 aces. The best blocker was Dudiæ from Smederevo, who scored 57 times from block, and the best attacker was Vasoviæ from Partizan with 251 points out of attacks. The most effective player of a team was Gluvajiæ who scored 29,94% of points of his team Beograd.
