• Other Information: She was born on Darkover to Donal Lewis Lanart and his wife Larissa Doria Aldaran. Larissa died while giving birth to her. Donal was so heartbroken that he made arrangements for her to grow up off world. She was raised of Terra by Richard and Kathleen Day. Rick is a builder and Kate is a teacher. She had a normal childhood up until age 13 when the Aldaran gift made itself known to her. As a result people branded her a "Witch" and treated her badly. Rick and Kate told her that her Gift was bad and she grew up fearful of it. She returned to Darkover hoping to find out who the young red haired man is that has haunted her dreams since Matthew died. All she knows is that his name is Marius. Upon her arrival she finds out who she is and that Donal is deathly ill. He lives long enough to meet her. Dom Donal is the person who introduces Danette to Marius, who turns out to be her twin brother.
