Marius Castamir

• Age: in his late seventies
• Marital Status: widower
• Occupation: owner of a large international multiline corporation; lives on the interests of his investments and his shares of the profits of the companies he owns.
• Former Occupations: a playboy heir, later a husband and father, later still a recluse monk for a while in a monastery.
• Education: traditional Darkovan education of a minor comyn son, later Terran education in an equivalent of a high school and a university. Speaks several languages, among them Casta and several dialects of Cahuenga.
• Residence: mountain retreat on the slopes of Bernina, overlooking the Silvaplaner See in the Engadin valley in the Swiss canton of Graubunden, not far from Sankt Moritz. Has also town residences at Geneva and Zurich.
• Abilities
  • Unarmed Combat: average, but his skills are rusty after decades of not needing to use them
  • Armed Combat:
    Antique Weapons: was taught to handle sword and other traditional Darkovan weapons in his youth, but see above
    Guns/Lasers: can probably use a gun/phaser/laser/whatever if need be although he would prefer not to
  • Vehicles: drives a personal ground transport vehicle as well as the next guy, although he has a chauffeur who usually does the driving. The same goes with personal air transport vehicles and the like. He does like to drive for fun, though, and he owns a couple of antique ground vehicles called automobiles or just "cars".
  • Interpersonal skills: used to be rather wild in his youth and had many friends and acquintances. After the death of his wife he began to withdraw from the society and is now something of a recluse, living in his country housein the Alps with only a couple of servants to help him.
  • Weaknesses: Used to be quite an arrogant bastard and that still shows sometimes, but after he was widowed, he changed and is nowadays almost the opposite, almost fears crowds and large open places. He has had some health problems brought by the age; of course 70 years isn't really that old at this time and age but he has chosen not to take rejuvenation treatments.
• Appearance: Middle height, silvery-white hair and true Comyn grey eyes, six fingers in both hands. Lean, rather sinewy, still surprisingly strong and agile, although he seldom needs to show this.
• Romantic relationships: None since the death of his wife
• Friends: Not many... only some very trusted, very old friends both on Terra and on Darkover as well as on other planets of the Federation.
• Hobbies: Reading, drawing, meditating, collecting art and information, mountaineering. Owns houses and apartments in several big cities, such as London, Paris, New York, Tokyo, but nowadays only seldom leaves his country house. Collects art, of course.
• Other Information: His great-grandfather fled Darkover for some obscure reason, finally ending up in Switzerland, and slowly worked his way up from a small business entrepreneur to the head of an international multisector company. His son and grandson followed in his footstep, of course, and Marius after them. Marius was something of a playboy in his youth, but finally married a Terran woman (as had his father and grandfather done earlier). They had three children, two daughters and a son.
