• Laran gift and laran training: Precognition (strongest), Telepathy; no training at all, is not even fully aware of it even tho it starts to harrass him now and again; not fully in peace about it, empathy is a minor secondary gift

• Personality: emotional; can get very agressive, but alsó very gentle; likes investigating things
• Strengths: quick in adapting to changes, physical strength, sharp mind
• Weaknesses: tendency to agressiveness; gets himself into trouble interfering where he shouldn't
• Combat training: fully miltary trained, in laser weapons as well as unarmed combat
• Horseback riding: learned it when he was a child but later lost interest
• Appearance: tall, red hair, slim and athletically built, green brown eyes

• Hobbies: reading (what an anachronism), genealogy, swordfighting (another anachronism), having a good night out as they say in the Western Isles where he came from
• Other Information: was married and had two small children (wife Carina and two young sons, Niall and Ruairidh); they were killed in a space pirate attack which sent him for a while into hospital and off duty. Getting bored he started digging into his family history. He especially got curious about the third of his names "Valdir". He found a 'Margret Alton' about three hundred years back in his family tree, as place of origin neatly noted "Cottman IV", but no other information about her nor the planet itself. Looking for more information about this heritage, he makes his way there to find both consolation and maybe a new life. Calum has absolutely no clue about Darkover except that his ancestor - Margret Alton - has come from there ... He is just learning to cope with his Laran, but still very, very confused about it and can't just yet get rid of the old habit of answering loud to other peoples thoughts. And of course he does not know how very strong his two main gifts are ... nor how to use them "ethically", of course, so I suppose that he might need some laran training at some point ...
