I have been building plastic models as long as I remember.  My first attempt at it was with a #42 Mello Yellow Car, like the one in the movie "Days of Thunder."  It failed horribly, I don't think I even finished it.  That's the story of my Modeling experience, not finishing.  I have about 8-10 completed models, and about 5 that are about 75% done.  Last summer (2003) I got back into it again, this time with refined skills and the right equipment.  The results were much better than my previous attempts.  I have built a variety of models, most of which are now cars.  They include a B-29 Flying Super-Fortress, 1969 Camaro SS, 1970 Chevelle, 1967 Pro-Street Chevelle, 1978 Corvette, and a 1999 #18 Interstate Batteries Grand Prix.  Models that are nearing completion are a 1978 Firebird, U.S.S Saratoga Aircraft Carrier, and a Mack Semi Truck.  Models that I have bought and haven't touched yet include a 1967 Plymouth GTX, a 1964 GTO, 1997 Corvette, a 1968 Plymouth Roadrunner, a 1967 Shelby GT350 and a 1971 Dodge Charger.

Here are some pictures of my models that I've completed.

This is a 1967 Chevelle Pro-Street car.  No one made a kit for this car, so I used parts from a 66' Malibu Pro-street car and a 67' Chevelle body.  The engine is a big-block 454 with open headers.

This is a 78' Corvette which was produced as a pace car, I decided that I wanted to paint it white instead though.  Its got a small-block 350 for a motor.  This is probably my most frustrating to build, I put a lot of effort into it also.

One of the few Airplanes I've built, its a B-29 Super-Fortress.  I built this model back in Junior-high.  Its fully detailed, down to the fire-extinguisers and warning labels in the bomb bay of the plane.  While my best model plane, it isn't my favorite WWII plane, that would be the P-38 Lightning.  That's a future plan to build though....

Here's my latest completed model, its a 1970 Chevelle.  I'm a huge fan of red cars, I really love them.  Paint jobs on these cars are sub-par, but they are going to get better!  The Firebird I'm working on right now is getting painted with Dupli-color and it looks amazing, no more 2 dollar Krylon for my models.  In about 2 weeks the Firebird should be done, along with my USS Saratoga.

My favorite model car, a 1969 Camaro SS/RS with Baldwin-Motion Performance package.  I love the way it turned out and the green color is interesting.  I would love to own a real 69' Camaro Z28 someday with a 350 or a 383.  I do not like the hideaway headlights which most SS models came with, which is why I do not want a SS..  Its going to be Red with Black or White dual Racing Stripes.
