This paper presents the design, performance studies and analysis of a small-scale ATM multicast fabric that can prefixed to an switch fabric. It has been found to be simple to implement and offers a performance comparable with more complex designs. The model used in the analysis is one of a class of cyclic servers of general interest in many other areas, as summarised by Takagi.
