Bio
Matthew William Lawrence was born on February 11, 1980, in Abington, Pennsylvania. He is the second oldest of 3 brothers, at 20, which makes him the middle child.

Matt was just 1 year old when his brother Joey started acting in television commercials in the family's home state of Pennsylvania. Seeing his brother on television made a remarkable impression on little Matthew, who thought acting looked like a lot of fun. He soon told his parents, insurance broker Joe and third grade teacher Donna, that he wanted to act, too.

He began his acting career at the age of 3 when he landed the role of Heather Locklear's son, Danny, on the long-running series Dynasty. By this time, his parents had decided to spend some time in Hollywood to support Matthew and Joey's acting careers. For the next ten years, the family (which now includes brother Andy, who is 8 years younger than Matt) flew back and forth between Philadelphia and Hollywood. By 1996, however, Matt's family had settled permanently in Los Angeles.

Career

Since appearing on Dynasty in 1983, Matt has starred in a string of television series, including NBC-TV's Sara (1985), Fox's Drexell's Class (1991), Walter and Emily (1991-92), Bringing Up Jack (1994) and the syndicated live action series Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad (1994-95).

He's also had recurring guest starring roles on his brother's two NBC-TV series, Gimme A Break (1986-87) and Blossom (1994-95). From 1995 to 1997, Matt co-starred with both of his brothers on the WB series Brotherly Love as Matt Roman. His most recent project was playing the role of Jack Hunter on the hit ABC-series Boy Meets World.

In addition to his TV series, Matt has also appeared in numerous made-for-TV movies and feature films. He had roles in the TV movies Daddy (1987), David (1988), Joshua's Heart (1991), The Summer My Father Grew Up (1991), and Brothers of the Frontier (1995), which also featured Joey and Andy.

Matthew's feature film credits include Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (1987), Pulse (1988), Tales from the Darkside: The Movie (1990), the blockbuster hit Mrs Doubtfire (1993), Angels in the Endzone (1997) and Strike! (1998).
