| Goku(Kakarott) |
| Kakarott is the main character of the Dragonball Series. He is part of a race called the Saiyans, who lived on Planet Vegeta. His fathers name was Bardock, who he never met, for he was one day murdered by Frieza. Originally, Kakarott was sent to Earth to destroy it. But while on Earth he fell off a cliff and hit his head, forgetting his mission. An old man named Gohan found him and named him Goku. He raised him and trained him in martial arts. The strange thing though, was that Goku had a tail. One night when Goku gazed at a full moon, he transformed into a giant gorilla. Not being able to control himself, his rage destroyed Gohan. He lived alone for a long time until he met Bulma. They traveled together looking for the Dragonballs(see the dragonball page for details). In Dragonball Z, Goku learns of his origin from his brother Raditz, but decides to defend Earth instead of destroy it. Goku was also the first Saiyan in the story to become a Super Saiyan. Around the end of Dragonball, Goku marries Chi-Chi, the Ox King's daughter. |
| Gohan(not Goku's Grandfather) |
| Gohan is Goku's first son(obviously named after Goku's Grandfather). He was born Half-Saiyan, Half-Human which is a deadly combination. Whenever he gets angry he unleashes a hidden power greater than anyone of the Z Fighters can imagine. This is first shown in the Saiyan Saga when he nearly kills Raditz for hurting Goku badly. Piccolo(below) noticed this and trained him, but it was no use, Gohan could only unleash the power when he was angry. Gohan is a very important character in the Dragonball's and I don't know how the show would be without him. |
| Piccolo |
| Piccolo was originally a demon that lived inside of Kami. Kami was a Namekian, from the Planet Namek, of course . He desired to become the Guardian of Earth. Though, the Guardians of the past told him that he could not become Guardian until he was rid of the evil inside of him. So they split Kami into two. There was the good Kami and Piccolo Daimeo the demon part of Kami. Piccolo Daimeo escaped and he wrecked havoc on the world. Then Goku stepped up and defeated him. Before his last breath he made an egg of himself, and when it hatched it was the Piccolo we now know and love. Over the years Piccolo became more soft hearted and kind. That's how he came to be Goku's friend. |

| Trunks |
| There are two different forms of Trunks, Future Trunks and Mirai Trunks. Future Trunks is obviously from the future. You first get acquainted with him after he whoops Frieza and King Colds @#!^%. He came back from the future to tell everyone that Androids would be unleashed in 3 years to destroy the planet. He was the only surviving fighter, and him and his mother Bulma had just enough resources to create a time machine to go back in time and warn everyone. Trunks is one of the strongest fighters in the story and Mirai Trunks might be even stronger. Mirai Trunks is the form of Trunks when he's just a little boy. Unlike Future Trunks, Mirai Trunks becomes Super Saiyan at a very young age, like Goten. He's a very strong fighter, and judging by how he was much more powerful at his age than the other Trunks, in the future, he's probably extremely powerful. |

| Even though he is evil at heart, Vegeta is perhaps one of the most strong-willed characters in the series. Like Son Goku, he is extremely industrious, constantly striving to be better, but different purposes drove Vegeta's spirit. Goku fought to defend the lives of others and to challenge his limitations while Vegeta fought to satisfy his bloodthirsty appetite and die hard pride, which is unwilling to accept defeat. This gradually changes throughout the series. The primary driver of his will is Son Goku. Vegeta's defeat in his first encounter with Goku and his unwillingness to accept Goku being more powerful had constantly fuelled his strong will to continue to train himself. After seeing Goku turn into Super Saiyajin and defeating Freeza, he grew even more jealous of Goku's achievements and immersed himself in intensive training. After much sweat and frustration , he finally became Super Saiyajin. He only enjoyed a fleeting moment of pride in destroying #20, before being defeated by #`8. Vegeta's first catharsis occurred during Son Gohan's battle with Cell. Because of his rash decision to attack Cell when he did not have the power to, had caused Gohan's arm to be seriously injured when Gohan saved his life. Not only was he not even close to Cell's ability, but also served as a hindrance to Gohan. That was the first time Vegeta accepted his incapabilities by making an apology to Gohan. By the time Majin Buu appeared, what used to be a cold-hearted Vegeta changed. Right before he proceeded to sacrifice his life in an attempt to destroy Buu, he told Trunks that he cared about him and how he felt bad about giving Trunks much less attention than Trunks deserved. During Son Goku's final battle with Majin Buu, Vegeta goes through a complete catharsis. He realized that Goku's pure and kind heart gave Goku the power that Vegeta never had. | Goten |
| Goten is the second son of Goku and Chi Chi, and looks almost identical to how his father looked when he was younger. He was born shorly after the end of the Cell Games, in which his father died, so he grew up with his mother and older brother Gohan. Goten is a polite and good natured boy, except when he is with his mischievous best friend Trunks. Like Trunks, Goten became a Super Saiyan without and special training or motivation; it came naturally to him. He couldn't even fly when he first became a Super Saiyan. Goten lives an uneventful life until he competes in the 25th Tenkaichi Boudokai. He finally meets his father, and enters the Junior Division, easily defeating all the preliminary contestants before facing Trunks in the final. After an incredible battle, Goten just loses to his friend. The two then team up and disguise themselves aas 'Mighty Mask', so that they can fight in the adults division. However, Android 18 discovers their tactic, and reveals them so they get disqualified. Unfortuanately, Buu is then released from his captivity, so Goku decides he needs to teach Goten and Trunks the powerful technique of fusion. Eventually, the two children master it, and are able to fuse together to form Gotenks. However, even Gotenks in Super Saiyan 3 form isn't enough to defeat Buu, and is absorbed. Goten is later freed, only to die when Kid Buu destroys the Earth. He is lter brought back by the Dragonballs, but as he grows up, Goten virtually stops training. Goten is later forced to enter the 28th Boudokai, where he is pared fight with the now good "Mr.Buu" in the first round... by Sam |
