Cable and Rope Introducing Equipment

In most cases, pulling cables into underground pipes is no easy task for the cable layer. Many obstacles make the work difficult, irrespective of whether it is being carried out with short lengths of pipe of 60 m or the usual shaft intervals of 100 – 120 m. complicated problems can arise, particularly in the case of length of pipes for fiber optic cables which today measure around 1000 – 2000 m.

With good planning, the equipment needed can be reduced to a minimum. Cleverly designed lightweight units are esse4ntial, particularly in the important field of installing ropes or cables in pipes. The quality of these units determines whether a cable passes through the pipe or not.

Conduit snakes
Conduit snakes
Conduit snakes have nowadays become indispensable for pulling winch ropes and cables through conduits. The round fiber glass rod with a high abrasion resistance covering of polyamide can be easily pushed through long conduits. The entire unit is light so that it can be used safely by one person only.

The galvanized storage reel can be operated upright or horizontally. Standard length of rods can be coupled using connectingswivels or catch hooks.

The galvanized storage reel is available in several sizes as shown in figure.

Flat wire brushes for pipes
Flat wire brushes for pipes In order to achieve a cleaning effect, one brush with clockwise rotation and one with counterclockwise rotation should be used together.
Nylon pipe brushes
Nylon pipe brushes These nylon pipe brushes are best suited for cleaning in case of less heavy contamination.
Pipe calibration mandrel
Pipe calibration mandrel Made of hard wood, these are drawn through the plastic pipe with a cable winch in order to guarantee the necessary minimum diameter for the cable.
Pipe detector for non-metallic pipe lines
Pipe detector for non-metallic pipe lines
A transmitter is screwed onto a conduit snake measuring 40–300 m.

This is pushed through the pipe or the duct. With the help of the detector it is possible to find the course of the pipe as well as any blockages.

Miniature transmitter & Duct transmitter
Miniature transmitter & Duct transmitter
The Miniature transmitter is used for very small pipes, with battery. Transmission depth down to 4.5 m.

The Duct transmitter is used for large pipe diameters. Water resistant for operating in channels. Transmission depth down to 5.0 m.

Locating device
Unit with visual and audible signal display, frequency 33 kHz, with depth measurement down to 9 m.

The Kabelblitz saves time and money
The two-headed dart blown through the plastic conduit

The Kabelblitz full package (Two-headed dart+Compressor)

The “kabelblitz” the pneumatic rope blowing is equipment for cable installations overcomes the most complicated conduits even with many bends.

The flexible two-headed dart is blown through the plastic conduit at a low pressure of approximately 4 bar, produced by an electric compressor. The dart pulls in a polypropylene rope.

Constrictions in the pipe are easily overcome due to the elasticity of the dart.
