It has the ability to break down fats and grease, it helps eliminate the foul smell emanating from the grease and fat traps normally found outside kitchens, especially where a large volume of food is prepared daily.

SEWERAGE TREATMENT ENZYME

D.K.P. is a blend of natural enzymes and harmless bacteria which, when added to sewerage will break down the solid effluent into a liquid form. This liquid then seeps into the ground and is filtered by the soil and mixes with the water table. The liquid that reaches the water table will not contaminate the water.

The manner in which the breaking down process takes place ensures that the malodorous smell that emanates from the effluent will disappear, discourage the owners from dosing lime, caustic soda, acid or deodorant into the system killing of the natural bacteria. With no smell, flies and other insects will not be attracted to the Pit Latrine or Septic Tank. Due to the breaking down process being completely natural, water borne diseases such as cholera, typhoid, dysentery and diarrhoea will not occur once D.K.P. is used, resulting in a far more acceptable system which will not be a public health hazard.

In case of Pit Latrines, monthly dosing of D.K.P. will prevent the Pit Latrine from filling up, eliminating the need for digging a new hole. The Pit Latrine will not smell and diseases will not breed in the pit, resulting in a safer and more hygienic treatment system.

The most common problem with Septic Tanks is that the soakaway of French drain becomes congested with fats and gel from the effluent. The congestion prevents the water and liquid effluent from seeping away and the Septic Tank fills up. With the application of D.K.P., the solid matter in the Septic Tank and the fats and gel in the soakaway or French drain are broken down, thus preventing the system from filling up. If a system is being overloaded, D.K.P. will assist it in dealing with the excess volume of effluent. In the case of harmful chemicals having been added to the system, killing off the natural bacteria. D.K.P. will reintroduce new bacteria and regenerate the process.

With the solid effluent becoming liquid and seeping into the ground and in the case of Septic Tanks, the soakaway becoming free of gel, there will be no requirement for the pumping out of the effluent by vacuum tanker or "Honeysuckers".
