My Newsletter, The MUSE

I began The MUSE in 2000, soon after I installed the Writing Center at John Dewey High School.  The purpose of the newsletter is to inspire writing across the curriculum and provide a forum for the school community to showcase good and interesting writing.  Towards that end, I publish news and details about writing contests of all kinds to encourage students to write, enter contests, and try to win scholarships.  Often, model student essays and poems appear in The MUSE, which serves to provide an audience and reward for exceptional work.  I continue to publish The MUSE at Brooklyn HS of the Arts.  The newsletter is integral to our efforts at improving and celebrating writing in all the subject areas.  Below are the most recent issues.
