Membership

The original founding members are:

Phil Atkin, Pete Bull, Bern Chriss, Mike Clack, Sylvia Green, Jeff Henderson, Phil Illidge, Mike Jessop, Sue Kylymnik and Ron Minton.

Several other members from the original branch have also followed and some members from another local branch heard about us. When we met, it was soon clear that they held similar principles as the founders - so they joined us too.

We currently have 21 members (April 2000), comprising seven Advanced Divers, four of which are NQIs and two Area Coaches - active members of the West Midlands Coaching Team. Most of the remaining members are DLs - with a couple of Sports Divers.

We're not particularly looking for new members - in fact we have set a limit of 25. We'll review this at the end of 2000. Our prime concern is not to get too big and impersonal.

We have no assets, no pool to hire - therefore our subs are modest - just £12 per year. We also have no politics - and don't want to acquire any!

We have no restrictions on guests and friends and welcome divers to join us socially, as well as participating in dives locally at Dosthill and Stoney Cove - and expeditions to the coast and abroad if spaces exist. Our members want to promote inter-branch contact - both above and below the waterline.
