Warning: Language, Not Relena friendly I Stay Away Yeah, I want to travel south this year Aaah, woah, woah won't prevent safe passage here “I told you three times already Heero. I’m going. There is Nothing you can do from preventing me from going. If you leave without me, I’ll just follow you.” Duo’s eyes blazed as he stood defiant. Grabbing his duffel bag, he started throwing clothes into it, ignoring the shocked look on his partner’s face. Finally shrugging, Heero packed his bag carefully. It was a simple mission. Protect Relena. He always seemed to get stuck with that one. Why did Duo want to come along so badly? He always seemed so angry when Heero went anywhere near her. There had to be some reason. Running his fingers over the scar where Duo had first shot him, he had to wonder. Had he Really been protecting Relena? Why you act crazy Not an act maybe So close a lady Shifty eyes shady Clutching the branch he lay upon, Duo glared angrily down at the blond haired wench that was trying to steal a kiss from Heero. Why did she always have to act like that? So prim and proper when anyone else was around, but the moment they were alone it seemed like her whole personality changed. She acted like a first class slut. Tightening his grip on his rifle, he put the crosshairs on her forehead for a moment. It would be too easy… Growling, he eased his finger back off the trigger. Damn. He couldn’t say exactly why he hated her so much, but the thought of that two-faced brat anywhere near his partner made his blood boil. He was going to pay the scientists back for each time they sent a mission like this one. He didn’t know how, but they would pay. Yeah, hey Yeah, tears that soak a callous heart Heero looked down at his sleeping partner with confusion in his heart. Captivated, he studied the long braid that snaked down Duo’s pale back, glistening in the moonlight. It seemed impossible that this peaceful vision could be the glowering man that stayed just out of vision all day. Why had Duo come? The question gnawed at him. He spent all of his time away from both Relena and Heero. He could have done the same thing by staying at home. Heero hadn’t even been able to spot him except like this or at meals. Meals where he said nothing, glaring at everyone. Feeling something warm on his face, Heero reached up to wipe a tear off of his cheek. Why did it matter so much what Duo did? Shrugging, he pulled the blanket up over Duo’s shoulders. It shouldn’t matter, but it did. Why you act frightened I am enlightened Your weakness builds me So someday you'll see Relena smiled faintly as she looked at the men surrounding her. They seemed completely absorbed in what she was saying. This meeting would go far in furthering her ambitions for peace. Standing straighter, she glanced over at Heero. He was standing off to one side, threatening by his presence.  Perfect. The only jarring note was a prickling at the back of her neck. Just as every day, she felt as though someone was watching her. Banishing the thought from her mind, she finished up her speech, ending with an invitation to walk through the gardens. As the men around her nodded, most with a smile, she felt victory well in her heart. She never noticed the silent man crouching in the bushes on the path ahead. As the man leapt out, a bullet from somewhere hit him, spraying the ground with blood and gore. Screaming shrilly, she threw herself backwards, running towards Heero. She had almost made it to him when another shot hit the ground in front of her. Throwing herself backward, she hit the ground hard. When she finally looked up she saw Duo standing back in the forest, a look of sheer rage on his face. Shuddering, she saw that Heero hadn’t even had time to draw his gun. I stay away Heero watched Duo fade back into the trees, vanishing as though he’d never been there. Bending down, he helped Relena up, ignoring her attempts to throw herself onto him. After making sure the diplomats were alright, he headed back to the house, towing Relena along like the burden she was. Why you act crazy Not an act maybe So close a lady Shifty eyes shady Shivering inside the blanket Heero had thrown over her, she grabbed the mug of coffee in front of her like a lifeline. “How dare Duo shoot at me!” Fuming, she couldn’t tell if she was more angry or frightened. “I haven’t done anything to him! I should have him hunted down for this! Can you believe he would do something like that?” Looking up at Heero, she realized she had made a mistake. The cold fury in his eyes almost matched the anger she had seen in Duo’s. Grabbing the blanket he had given to Relena, Heero stormed out of the room. He understood now. She had been the reason for his partner’s actions. He had never realized before what she was like. Running up to his room, he grabbed his possessions, noticing that Duo’s were already gone. I stay away I stay away I stay away I stay away “Hey Duo, make room for me.” Heero smiled at the surprise on Duo’s face. Sitting next to him on the bench, he casually draped an arm around his shoulders. “All missions like this in the future will be declined.” With that, he fell silent, enjoying the feel of Duo pressed against him. Bringing out his laptop, he wrote a quick note. Relena, I’m going to kill you.    Heero
