From Max Wieldruk to Jose Randy

Dear Jose,

Thanks you for your mail and your concern. PDF-files are commonly used all around the world, actually. You can download a free Adobe Acrobat PDF-reader from the following website: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html. However, I am resending the forms as a JPG-file, which may be easier for you to open.

As you will see the documents speak for themselves. Mr Cas te Kort stipulated that the form 308-BT should be duly signed and sealed by the bank which is going to transfer the money to the Verdronken Bank van Saaftinge, otherwise the form won't be accepted here. I see your problem there.

Well, there may be a solution. Either you can transfer the money through another bank in Lome, may I suggest the African Development Bank or the Union Togolaise de Banque (Union Bank)? However, it may be a little suspicious that a high official of the Bank of Africa uses another bank to transfer a huge amount of money abroad. But then, being a high official in your bank, you could sign the form yourself. No doubt you have access to the stamps and seals of your bank. Just a signature and a stamp will do, I have been assured. It's not that difficult, but I have to have this document here in the first place and then bribe the Ministerie van Ecomonische Zaken to get them to turn a blind eye, otherwise I will be deep in trouble.

There could be yet another solution. I might apply for a visa and a travel permit and come to Togo myself to collect the money. The wife and I would like a holiday, so coming over 'for a holiday' and collecting the money would arouse no suspicion at all.

I eagerly await you speedy reply!

Your friend,

=====
