One of my very first baits. It all started with two items on 'how to become rich dot com', but soon I got the hang of it. It was really amusing. I wrote this from The Netherlands, after this one I always used the Republieck Rottumerplaat..

ii. A cancerous, born-again, Malaysian widow has written from the Ivory Coast.
Hi Mrs Rama,
I 'm sorry to hear of your health problems, but maybe the Lord will provide a miracle. You never know, perhaps we could get it together one day.
I've been praying for some money, so I thank both God and yourself for your generosity. We're planning to set up a brothel, so we can keep Christian girls out of the clutches of the mafia. The clients would all be high standing members from the community. We would guarantee no STD. Is this the kind of project you might be interested in?
May the Lord rain blessings upon your soul,
Rev KT Dykes
The widow was impressed:
"Thanks for your kind reply and for your feeling towards me all i want fom you is prayers.i do hope that you are going to used the funds to spread the gospel of the lord according to my request.
Mrs Rama idris i want to tell you that our lord work in a mericulous way..." Should you feel high standing enough to qualify for membership of this exciting brothel, please contact our patron, Mrs Rama idris.

Hi Mrs Idris,
I read your advertisement in our local San Francisco newspaper and thought: wow!, at last. I can't wait for the opening night ;->
Please, please, please send me an application form. I am a baptist minister, and have never felt comfortable in secular brothels. I think this is a great and charitable thing you're doing.

My dear Mrs Rama Idris,
I don't quite get it. I have been reliably informed by my good friend Marc de Sade that yours was the e-mail address to apply to for membership of the Christian brothel which will presently open its doors. Now you replied to me about your getting my name and e-mail through someone in the Dutch embassy and a fund you are about to leave in my care. What is your intention?
As you will understand, I'm really interested in becoming a member of the "Christian men's club" which you are about to open. So I would be glad if you could give some more information on that subject. The fact that you use whipmail already gives an idea of what to expect... On Saturdays (under the pretext of working overtime) I like to indulge in brothel visits, but I never felt quite at home in non-Christian brothels. So your initiative is really a godsent. Of course I trust that you will keep this top secret.
In my previous e-mail I already gave you the necessary information about myself:
Name: Dr. Max Wieldruk,
Company: Chief Executive Officer of Spakenspanner BV
Address: Dwarsstraat 15, 1012 AA SAAFTINGE, the Netherlands.
I hesitate to give you my phone number right now. My wife might not like my having this contact with you, and she might find out if you were to use the phone to contact me. Please don't use the fax, for the same reason. I would prefer you or your pastor to contact me through my personal e-mail account.
Let me tell you some more about myself. I am the owner and CEO of Spakenspanner BV, a large manufacturer in the Netherlands of a product known as 'velgen', with which we supply the bicycle industry in our country. This, over the last few years, made me a millionaire. On Sundays I act as the vickar of our small community here in the church of Saaftinge.
Yours,
Dr. Max Wieldruk

Dear Pastor Osi Greg,
I still don't quite get it. I wrote to Mrs Idris because I wish to enroll as a member of the Christian Brothel which is to open shortly, or at least so I was informed by Mr Marc de Sade. Mrs Idris wrote back and kept on drivelling about documents and funds and things like that. What's more, you keep harping on the same subject, or rather, you are yelling at me in capital letters. These are really strange ongoings. All I want from Mrs Idris is information on the membership of the Christian brothel; and so far she has failed to give me any information which is relevant to my question.
So Mrs Idris has contacted me for investment of funds, has she? I was never aware of that. So please give me some more information. What kind of funds are you talking about? How much money is involved? How is the money to be invested and what is in it for me?
Anyway, you asked for more information about myself.

Dear Max,
Thanks for your mail and understanding of every situation. i am indeed very happy to have known this time that you have not been given the through picture of this transaction before now. i must not hesitate at this point to ellaborate on it to your full understanding.
See bellow on how you came into the picture of this project. i sometimes a go place on San Francisco newspaper my desire to invest the sum of US$5.5 million which my late husband left behind for me before his death on Charity work. it was not as if i really want to open membership of the Christian brothel. that is to say i do not need any fee from any body for any project that i do not know about. if that is what he read in the paper that is to say there was mis-information.
see bellow the first mail mail from Marq de Sade. i want to make you understand at this point that both you and Mr. Sade misunderstood the whole situation and project at hand.
I read your advertisement in our local San Francisco newspaper and thought: wow!, at last. I can't wait for the opening night ;->
Please, please, please send me an application form. I am a baptist minister, and have never felt comfortable in secular brothels.
I think this is a great and charitable thing you're doing.
Have a great day!
Marq de Sade
[Well blow me down. He even quotes the stuff that 'Marq de Sade' wrte to him!]
At this point Sir, i wish to make you understand the fund as mentioned above was deposited in a suspence account by my late husband for the purpose of Charity Work outside Africa. the money is presently in a suspence account with the AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT BANK Abidjan, CI. 15% will be given to you while 5% will be set aside for both local and international expenses in the cause of this project.
I asure you that all your information sent will be kept confidential for this project only. today is already friday, and so i wll get the bank to contact you on monday for further procced on this project because madam Rama has already given me a letter of authroity to be presented on your name which will be submited on monday. I will get back to you on the documents required and what it takes to obtain these documents in the ministries in your name for final approval and release of the fund.
Please do not hesitate to call me as soon as you read this mail. 225 0750 1881. let me have your telephone number as well so that i can call you.

Dear Pastor Osi Greg,
Well yes, your mail explains a lot. I called Marq de Sade on this subject; indeed there must have been some kind of misunderstanding. It seems a good idea to invest the funds in the Christian Businessmen's Benevolent Fund. You have already got my banking information, so I would suggest you remit the amount at your earliest convenience. As you informed me, I am to keep USD 825.000 for my part in the transaction; is that right?
Thank you so much,

Dear Pastor Osi Greg,
On returning from church today I found your e-mail. Thank you so much.
Here is my telephone number: +31 ** *******. (The + stands for the prefix which you may have to dial in your country). I tried to telephone the bank director yesterday, but apparently he wasn't in. Being the CEO of my company it won't be easy to get me on the phone. In order not to delay proceedings I would prefer the bank director to reach me by e-mail.
You have not replied to my questions in my previous e-mail.
I proposed that Mrs Idris' funds be used for the Christian Businessmen's Benevolent Fund. I suppose you will want to talk this over with Mrs Idris, but I want to make sure she agrees with this proposal. So, once again: is this allright with you and Mrs Idris?
You told me that I am to keep 15% of the funds, being USD 825.000. Could you please confirm this?
Before we proceed please take note of one or two things. Of course, complete secrecy is needed in this business. I would suggest that we use a password in all correspondence and in telephone calls. The password will be 'OPLICHTER'. This is the Dutch word for a small tool used for removing bicycle tyres from their rims; and I suppose not easily guessed as a password in your country.
Then, I have already forwarded to you my address, my banking information and I even scammed my passport for you. Of course, in handling such a large amount of money I must be certain of the person I am dealing with. Would you kindly forward to me:
· Your full name, date of birth and address (a copy of your passport will do)
· And I only wish to proceed with our business deal if you send me a photo of yourself, holding a paper with our password 'OPLICHTER' clearly written on it.
Yours,
Dr. Max Wieldruk

Dear Mrs Gene Umaru,
I write this e-mail on behalf of our customer, Mr Max Wieldruk of Saaftinge, the Netherlands. Mr Wieldruk's banking information as stated in your e-mail is substantially correct, and we await your early remittance of this amount of 5.5 million US dollars.
However, it should be noted that a transaction of this kind, the transfer of a sum exceeding one million euros, is subject to Dutch legislation as meant under the Dutch Economic Law, article 20.4, last changed on April 19th 1998. In short, this is a so-called F.L.A.U.W.E.-KUL-transaction under Dutch Banking Regulations. But probably there is no need for me to explain this to you. I know the African Development Bank to be very professional in its international business dealings.
For Mr Wieldruk to be able to receive this amount, will you kindly fill in the form enclosed as a PDF-file and return this by e-mail? We have filled in the part pertaining to Mr Wieldruk. Will you also let us know the ASIB-number of this transaction? Without it the Verdronken Bank van Saaftinge will not be able to handle the transfer.
Incidentally, you may not be aware that Mr Max Wieldruk and Pastor Osi Greg promised to use the secret password OPLICHTER in all correspondence. I would kindly draw your attention to this, after all, secrecy is the word, isn't it?
And by the way, there is no need to shout in capital letters. On your keyboard you will find a key 'CAPS LOCK'. If you find you type in capitals only, please press it once.
Yours,

Our client Dr Max Wieldruk gave us full power of attorney to represent him in this matter. As Dr Wieldruk informed you, he will be out of town for quite a few days on business. He will be staying on the island of Griend. Mr Wieldruk informed us in full about the project on hand, the fund, and how to invest the fund.
According to Mrs Rama's wishes, 50% of the fund will be invested by the Christian Businessmen's Benevolent Fund on sundry charities, 25% will go to Christian orphanages in Saaftinge, Ergernisse and on Griend, another 25% will be spent on spreading the Word in general. As Mr Wieldruk told us, Mrs Rama agreed to this. Please note that during his business trip to Griend, Mr Wieldruk will visit the orphanage to hear about the needs and how part of the money is to be invested there.
We have contacted your bank and sent them a PDF-file of the form 308-BT. We will copy this e-mail to your bank, but so far the form has not been returned. However, returning this form is vital for the Verdronken Bank van Saaftinge to handle this transfer; with this form you state that the transfer of this amount is in accordance with the regulations of Royal Dutch Banking. It is a mere formality, but banking regulations here in our country are very strict in this matter. Will you kindly instruct the bank to do the following: print this form, fill in the blanks, sign, scan and return to us by e-mail asap! And can the bank please inform us of the ASIB-number for this transaction???? As the bank should be well aware, the transfer of such a large amount should take place preferably through an ASIB-procedure, or possibly even by an HG-transfer. If we are not informed about the ASIB-number, there will be unnecessary delays! THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT!
On the 8th December the bank informed us about documents needed to transfer this fund. Please have these documents prepared. You informed us about the amount of $58,500.00 apparently needed for these
documents. To us that seems rather a stiff price. On the other hand, 5% of the total fund was reserved to meet these costs. I am sure you will be able to collect part of the fund in order to pay for these documents.
Should any questions arise, please call. Our number is +31 ** *******. Remember the password is OPLICHTER, which you are also to use on the telephone. [The telephone number is real and belongs to a Dutch firm which swindles it customers into useless but expensive advertising contracts.]
Yours,

Dear Zacharias Wendel,
Thanks for your detailed mail of today.
I wish to make you understand that the transfer of this fund is to be effected through telegraphic transfer. before the transfer can be made according to the banking laws here, a transfer PIN CODE number will be issued by the Ministry of Finance here through African Development Bank here in Abidjan and not ASIB NUMBER as indicated in your mail. The investment analysis as shown in your mail is quite understood and also interesting to hear as well.
As for the documents needed for this transfer which has to be obtained in your clients name at both Ministry of Justice and Finance here in abidjan. Understand that the fund in question as your client is already aware is in a suspence account hence we cannot make withdrawal or deduction. the fund is only conditioned to be transferred into a foriegn account by the depositor at the time of deposit hence it is not possible for either me or Mrs. Rama to pay for the documents. that is to say financial assistance from your client to enable us obtain the relevant document in his name here will be rquired at the end of the day for final Aprrovals and Documentions to be put in place in his name. I did made you know in my mail of yesterday how much money we need to pay to the Ministries for these documents. will see Mrs. rama before the end of the day to know how much we have at hand then i should be able to get back to you on how much money or financial assistance we will need from your client to enable us get these documents as already stated.
I get the bank to fill the form and return to you as requested in your mail.
I am happy to work with you as a lawyer as i am a lawyer also though i attended Bible College which makes me a Pastor.
God bless you.

Dear Pastor Osi,
Thanks for your mail, the contents of which were well understood. Before Dr. Max Wieldruk left on his business trip to Griend, he informed us that we could handle this transfer to the best of our knowledge. After all, it is important that Mrs Rama's fund be used to good purpose.
If there are any costs involved on your side which Dr. Wieldruk should pay beforehand, please inform us. As Dr Wieldruk gave us full power of attorney, we suppose Dr Wieldruk will agree with some small investment which we have to make on our side. However, do give us some more details on the documents needed.
We will copy this to Mrs Umaru Gene of the bank. We will be happy to receive the BT-308 form as soon as possible. Telegraphic transfer of the 5,5 million dollars will be alright with the bank here in Saaftinge, though we prefer transfer through the ASIB-procedure. Should there be any questions, don't hesitate to phone.

Dear Zacharias Wendel,
thanks for your mail. i could not reach you yesterday as i was very busy with some other things at hand.
The transfer will be by T/T, it very simple and understandable.
Like i di indicate to you before now, the documents required will cost us US$58,500.00.
the documents are;
1) Drug Clerance Certificate.

At this point, i would advice you to please inform your client that the above stated amount is required to get the documents in his name and at the moment the money Mrs. Rama have at hand is only US$17,000.00. this is in addition to what the Church Parish has put together to assist her for this project. From the amount at hand you should know the balance of the money needed for the document. let me know in your return mail if your client will be able to raise the balance money for the document. You can also contact the Bank in relation to the document.

Subject: PLEASE HURRY / OPLICHTER
Dear Pastor Osi,
It is not my custom to write to you on a Sunday but we have an important case at hand. I talked to Dr Wieldruk on the phone after church time today. Mr Wieldruk is a wealthy man, but his money is for the larger part invested in his factory, and in stocks, shares and bonds. At such short notice Dr Wieldruk can raise USD 12,000 Raising more money will take some time. However, the amount needed is USD 41,500. This leaves us with the problem where to find the remaining money at short notice.
We think we have figured out a solution. The solution is this. I don't think I told you before, but I happen to be on the committee of the Christian Businessmen's Benevolent Fund, in fact, I am the treasurer. Our fund will greatly benefit from Mr Idris's fund; which we, in our turn, intend to use on spreading the Word and supporting our local churches here in Saaftinge and Ergernisse.
The Christian Businessmen's Benevolent Fund has recently raised an amount of 56,876 euros (69,809 USD) in support of the oncoming restoration (and badly-needed it is, too) of the world-famous cathedral of Ergernisse. This amount, all gifts from church-goers in our district, was raised over a period of some three years. The things we did! We organized jumble-sales, children washed parishioners' cars to raise money, really, such a lot of work went into raising this amount! This amount will be officially handed over to the church-government of Ergernisse during a festive church-service to be held on Sunday 28 December.
After church today I talked the whole thing over with the other members of the committee and we came up with an idea. As I told you, we called Mr Wieldruk, and as far as he is concerned we can go ahead with our proposal. He is still on his business trip to Griend; he won't come back until next Wednesday. On Griend he had a look at the local orphanage there and he thinks Mrs Idris's money is really needed to give the poor little orphans proper food and proper education. I told you before: your proposal came as a godsent. As it is, we do not have time on our side, so speed and absolute secrecy are our mottos.
What we propose to do is the following. Please read this very carefully!
Mr Wieldruk is prepared to put at your disposal an amount of USD 12.000.
The Christian Businessmen's Benevolent Fund is prepared to put the remaining USD 29.500 at your disposal, as kind of "loan", so to speak. With Mrs Idris's USD 17.000 this totals an amount of USD 58.500, which will permit you to put the documents needed for the money transfer in order. However, we are a bit anxious about the whole affair! The thing is, the money we will put at your proposal is about half the hard-earned money earmarked by our committee for the restoration of Ergernisse Cathedral, which we must hand over to the church in Ergernisse in two week's time!
Do you think you can manage to transfer Mrs Idris's fund to Mr Wieldruk's account within the next two weeks? We must be certain of that, because what we are actually doing is using a very large amount of money for a different purpose, which really is clandestine according to our regulations! We don't want anyone to find out, otherwise we will really have a really big problem on 28 December! Please do confirm to us that we Mrs Idris's funds will be in Mr Wieldruk's account by 27 December!
There are one or two more things.
The bank still has not returned the 308-BT form, which is vital on our side to enable the bank to receive a transfer of money this large in the first place. Could you please inform Mrs Umaru Gene to get on with it and return the form by tomorrow? I will send her a separate email.
Mr Wieldruk has sent you his passport and other information. Please Pastor Osi Greg, send us a copy of your passport. Just to make sure who we are dealing with. After all, we are talking about lots and lots of money, which is no child's play.
And most important: in which manner are we going to transfer the USD 58,500 to you? Could you (or the bank) please inform us? Please do hurry! We are all very anxious for this deal to come off in the way you promised. We could do such a lot of good with this munificence of Mrs Idris's. I, for one, can hardly sleep!
Zacharias Wendel

Dear Zacharias Wendel,
Thanks for your elaborated mail. Indeed i welcome your courage, and understanding of the whole situation. I 'm sure with your wealth of understanding and courage of this situation ,we will get this project completed as soon as we have the funds required for the documentation on hands.
I 'm also sure the Bank must have filled out the form before now .If they have not, they'll surely do it before the end of the day.
If the total amount of money required could be made available, i will advice you transfer it through western Union money transfer to avoid delay in making the transfer from your end to us here through Bank account as soon as the fund is ready at hand. However, we have been able to raise US$2,000.00 in addition to the intial US$17,000.00 on hand.
Suffice to say, we have a total of US$19,000.00 right now on hand.
If yours is ready, to avoid delay you can effect transfer through western union money transfer to the names of my staff as bellow.
1) Greg Osi
2) George Cole ( Accounts Officer)
3) Mrs. Matu Kamara (Secretary)
Please do split the money to these names on two transactions each as you may not be able to transfer the total money at once on these names. Pls. give me the transfer information through email if this means of transfer is okay by you. Note that the total balance is US$39,500.00
I assure you that ,as soon as we have the funds on hand we will complete every aspect of this project ,and get the funds transferred to you before on the 28/ December/2003 as demanded in your mail.
Please, give me an alternative telephone number as, i tried the number provided each time i call the line on a language that i cannot understand. You can call my direct line 225 0761 5257 or 225 0750 1881. May the Almighty GOD bless us all.
waiting for your mail.
Kindly Regard.

Dear Pastor Greg Osi,
Thanks for your e-mail. Your bank has, at last, sent the document we needed. Actually Mrs Umaru's e-mail arrived hours before yours, and I and my colleagues decided not to wait. The Verdronken Bank van Saaftinge was so kind to handle the whole situation for us, and transferred the amount. As your bankers are the African Development Bank, and as this transfer is rather urgent after all, we transferred the amount of USD 39.500 by ASIB-transaction to the headquarters of the African Development Bank, Rue Joseph Anoma, 01 BP 1387 Abidjan 01,Côte d'Ivoire. We transferred it to the attn. of Mrs Gene Umaru and we are sure this will be all right with you. We received word from the bank that the money will be held in a suspended account for the time being. It was only during late in the afternoon when your e-mail arrived with the request to send money by Western Union, which is certainly a safe method of transferring money, but very, very unusual for amounts this large. And we really want this deal to be finished by 28 December, so we decided to act instead of waiting. There is quite a lot at stake!
As I said, thanks very much for sending the form 308_BT. We have to get this checked and approved by the Nederlands Lulkoek-Instituut. This usually takes a day or two, but we actually bribed them and we will receive word from them tomorrow.
I am sure we will be able to proceed presently with the matter on hand.
Yours,

Dear Zacharias Wendel,
why do you derive joy in telling lies. i have worked with some many Banks in the past and up till now i still work with banks as an attorney. how can you transfer money to just an HEAD QUARTER of a bank. no bank account. i did ask you for your telephone number you gave me a non working line. i gave you mine you refused to call me. you are a big lier and you are trying to commit fraud which is very sure. NO BODY on earth will transfer money the way you have just done and there is nothing you can do to make us transfer these funds into your bank account as you have already provided. You should stop mailing me as regards this matter as you are not a serrious person.
If we must work together, call me as you cannot deceive GOD. i will get this your last mail to Mrs Rama.
thanks for telling lies even when GOD is put in a project of this type.

Subject: Re: PASTOR OSI THANKS/ OPLICHTER
Dear Pastor Osi, or Mrs Idris, or whatever your real name is,
Oh, so you did not like my transferring the advance fees to a regular bank So now I'm a liar and a fraud? Now that is not very nice is it, calling me a liar. Not nice at all. Considering that you have been trying to take me and Dr Max Wieldruk for a fool, to the tune of USD 39,500. That is a lot of money, which will not be yours. No doubt you must be slightly disappointed.
If one person is a liar and on a large scale at that, it's you. I knew that from the very start. I am a very serious person.
Now let's face the facts.
On 1 December 'Mrs Rama' wrote "i told a friend in your embassey about my condition that iam looking for a trust person that was now i got your contact." That's not very likely. 'Mrs Rama' never wrote to me in the first place. I picked up her address from the internet, never mind where. No-one in the Dutch embassy has ever heard of Max Wieldruk, or Zacharias Wendel. These names are very much as real as Pastor Osi Greg, Rama Idris or Umaru Gene. Which is quite as real as Mrs Rama's 5,5 million dollars.
Anyway, my first e-mails left you rather bewildered. If you would re-read your mail of 5 December you will notice that you were not really certain whether you were Mrs Rama or Pastor Osi. Or rather, they are one and the same person.
Documents such as "1) Drug Clerance Certificate. 2) Notarisation Certificate 3) Receving Order certificate." are quite as real as the ASIB-procedure in international banking (I don't know what it means either), or the BT-308 form.
You were encouraging me to transfer USD 39.500 to you at very short notice. A real attorney who knows a thing or two about international banking would never use Western Union for that purpose. We are sure that, should we really have transferred this amount to you, this would have been the last we would ever have heard from you, or our money. We are sure you would have been very happy to steal the money which was set aside for the restoration of Ergernisse Cathedral which took so much work collecting.
And anyway, would you believe someone with a funny name, who you have never met in your life, of whom you have never heard before, who just through e-mail offers you millions of dollars?
Anyway, when doing business with a Dutchman, do brush up on your Dutch. Our secret password OPLICHTER is Dutch for what you are: A SWINDLER. ZWENDEL (Z. Wendel, the name must ring a bell) means swindle. And incidentally, there was a nasty mistake in the English translation of the form 308-BT. The Dutch text is different. You actually declared that this transfer was just a matter of false pretexts in order to be able to receive advance fees. Sorry about that, the translator has been sacked.
Yes, it's true, I have lied just a bit. But just for the purpose of wasting your time, which would otherwise have been spent in swindling others. You're a scammer, a fraud and a thief. I don't know why you mentioned God all the time, but I'm certain God is not be swindled, unlike so many other people who fall for your cheap lies.
With many greetings from Saaftinge,
Yours, as ever,
=====
