MWF Awards 2004
[The camera opens up in a large dining hall, we zoom out and the
MWF banner looms large and solemn above a doorway into the hall. The
hall is filled with tables, seated at them are some of the greatest
names in MWF history of both past and present. Stars of rival
promotions also hold seats at tables, the owner of WEW Ben Harlum is
seen and he raises a glass to the passing camera. We switch positions
and a man gets up from his seat, the CEO of the MWF, Edward Walker,
starts his walk up through the sea of tables.]
JP: Welcome everyone to the MWF Awards show
2004, we are delighted to welcome you to this show where we will
celebrate all that is great about the MWF.
Sully: It's going to be a packed night, we
have some of the most important awards to give out.
JP: Only the most deserving will win.
Sully: Most definitely, last year we saw
Anarkist voted in as the MWF legend.
JP: Quite right he was an inspiration for
many and remains so to this day.
Sully: He's up for the same award tonight
after he came back in 2004 and claimed the MWF World Heavyweight
Championship for a record third time.
JP: Let's take a look…
MWF MAYhem 2004: {{{[ [Anarkist walks away from NomaD, he
almost seems to shake his head as he stares at the
crowd.........4.........NomaD is pulled off the floor by Anarkist and
the crowd jeer as Anarkist tosses NomaD back into the ring, he steps
up onto the ring apron and ducks between the ropes, Charles Galliant
signals for the count to stop. NomaD is back on his feet and the
crowd roar as he lands a punch at the rising Anarkist who has just
ducked between the ropes, the fist comes down onto the face of
Anarkist who is taken aback with the force of the blow. NomaD follows
it up with a massive DDT, but it knocks him down at the same time and
both men end up on the mat. Charles Galliant looks at the downed
pairing and raises his arms to signal a count, the crowd chant with
him as he counts......1........2.........3..........4........Anarkist
begins to move, the lack of offense against him is showing as he
begins to push himself up..........5............Galliant stops the
count as Anarkist is almost on his feet again.]
JP: There is no keeping Anarkist down,
he's not going to stay down on the mat for longer than he has
to.
Sully: NomaD's spent more time on the mat
in this match than in his entire career...
JP: ....probably, he has been dominated,
and just when you think there was a chance of a comeback Anarkist
goes a squashes it completely.
Sully: If I was NomaD I'd be running
scared, I'd forget about the MWF World Championship and focus on
getting out of here alive.
JP: Perhaps NomaD needs to remember that
the MWF World Championship is on the line and it might just inspire
him to fight on.
Sully: He can't have forgotten about the
MWF World Championship, it is not a belt you forget about in a
hurry....
[Anarkist is back on his feet, NomaD stays down on the canvas
as Anarkist parades around, showboating to the crowd who boo loudly.
Anarkist grabs NomaD and slowly pulls him back up to a standing
position, NomaD's legs are swaying as he attempts to stand and
Anarkist hoists him up and brings him down with a backbreaker.
Instead of releasing him Anarkist causes the crowd to jeer as he
holds NomaD in place and executes a second backbreaker, the crowd
jeer even louder as Anarkist hits yet another backbreaker....NomaD's
back is arched in an unshapely manner.]
JP: A triple backbreaker, NomaD is
enduring one hell of a beating tonight!
Sully: That's some power from Anarkist,
he's determined to beat a lesson into NomaD for disrespecting the MWF
World Championship.
JP: Disrespecting?
Sully: The MWF World Championship is a
symbol that should be displayed to the masses, week in, week out and
NomaD has not been doing that.
[NomaD is tossed down to the mat by Anarkist and he covers, a
relaxed cover as Charles Galliant counts.....1.....2...! NomaD
manages to roll the shoulder to the cheers of the crowd, Anarkist
looks a little surprised at NomaD's resiliance and he grabs NomaD's
hair and yanks him to his feet. The crowd jeer as the knee of
Anarkist is implanted into the groin of "The Hardcore Icon"....an
irish whip sends NomaD into the ropes and he comes running back into
a massive spinebuster from the two time MWF World Champion. NomaD's
back is again the subject of abuse as he hits the canvas and cries
out with pain...Anarkist just stands over him, looking down with a
pitiful gaze.]
JP: What a spinebuster! I think the
entire ring has just been shaken!
Sully: Hey.....is that who I think it
is?
JP: Where?
Sully: There!
JP: Where?
Sully: On the entrance way!
[The crowd are beginning to turn, and eventually ten thousand
people stare at the entrance way where Laura Walker, the wife of
Anarkist and daughter of the MWF President Edward Walker, is standing
with a steel chair in her hands. Anarkist looks up...his eyes blazing
as he spots his wife walking down the entrance ramp, a wild panic
grips his face.]
JP: What the hell is Laura Walker doing
out here? She can't possibly be getting involved in this
match....
Sully: ...I think she's just come to make
sure that her husband gets what he deserves.
JP: A good slap is what he deserves,
NomaD when he wakes up is not going to like the look of this one
bit.
Sully: NomaD must be praying for a bit of
"Twisted Vizion" right about now....
[Laura Walker is nearing the ring, the chair swinging in her
hands like a rod of power. Anarkist steps back and calls for a mic,
his wife climbs up the ring steps and smiles sweetly to her husband
and she steps carefully over the fallen NomaD. The crowd are jeering
as she raises the steel chair above NomaD, and brings it down to
within an inch of his back....she stops just as the chair is about to
make impact.]
JP: What the....
Sully: ....I don't like it, I don't like
it one bit.
JP: Anarkist will want her to do some
explaining, he must of been expecting her to hit NomaD with that
steel chair.
Sully: He didn't set this up, I can tell,
he does not expect his wife to be out here tonight.
[The MWF World Champion is down as his challenger has a mic in
his hand and he looks at his wife with a look of disbelief.]
Anarkist: Honey....what exactly are you
doing out here?
Laura Walker: Watching my husband do what
he does best, destroy pathetic creatures like NomaD so he can become
the MWF World Champion that he craves to be.
Anarkist: I thought I told you not to
come down here.
Laura Walker: Why not? I've lived around
wrestling all my life....my father....
Anarkist: ...must you say his
name!
Laura Walker: Yes Stef....
[The crowd gasp as Laura calls Anarkist by his christian
name....Anarkist glares at his wife, a look of true anger in his
eyes. Anarkist drops the mic, grabs the chair from his wife's grasp
and drops it on the mat. He takes NomaD and hoists him up onto his
shoulders, he roars at his wife to move out of the way and Laura
Walker jumps back as Anarkist executes a violent version of the
Broken Rule. The crowd scream as NomaD is brought down, with
incredible force, onto the steel chair. Anarkist covers and the crowd
jeer as Charles Galliant counts.....1......2......3! The crowd pop
with boos as Anarkist slowly stands, his eyes glowing as he raises
his arms and roars at the crowd, Laura Walker grabs the mike.]
Laura Walker: And your winner, through
pinfall, the new Maximum Wrestling Federation World Heavyweight
Champion, Anarkist!
[The MWF World Heavyweight Championship is brought into the
ring and Anarkist eyes it hungrily, reaching out for it as Charles
Galliant slowly places it into the hands of Anarkist. The former two
time MWF World Heavyweight Champion, now triple time MWF World
Heavyweight Champion sinks down to his knees, the MWF World
Heavyweight Championship clutched to his chest. His wife stands over
him, she squats down next to him, the mic in her hands.]}}}
Sully: Stunning, absolutely stunning.
JP: Shall we join our master of ceremonies
for tonight, the MWF CEO, Edward Walker.
[The MWF CEO is standing on a platform at the front of the hall,
he leans against the stand that has been set up and on it is the MWF
Legend award that Walker looks at. He checks his microphone and
coughs to get the attention of the gathered throng of superstars.]
Walker: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen.
Welcome one and all to the MWF Awards for 2004.
[A round of applause echo's through the hall at the CEO's words.
Walker continues once the clapping has subsided.]
Walker: Thank you everyone for making the
effort to be here tonight and enjoy this evening. We have eight
awards to give out across this evening and they will be given to only
the best, as voted for by your good selves.
[More applause follows Walker's words, he has a smile on his
ageing face as he raises a glass of champagne that sits on the stand.
He holds it up to the light and bellows.]
Walker: Before we hand out the awards, would
you please raise your glass and join me in a toast to the future of
the MWF!
["To The MWF!" repeats the assembled mass of bodies as glasses are
raised and hearty swigs of champaign taken. The camera focuses on the
table holding Tempest, and his stable The Master Plan for a moment,
he looks happy at the picturesque hall full of tuxedo's and party
dresses.]
Walker: This year has been one of change for
the Maximum Wrestling Federation. I, in the summer, moved to a
slightly different position and Wayne took on the mantle of MWF
President. He is still relatively young in management years but my
good friend has done a good job so far. I, myself, am now enjoying a
more laid back role and watching over the development of MSW.
[The camera moves to focus on Gino Battisti who sits at a table
with some of his MSW wrestlers, who look around at some wonder at the
decked out hall and big names sitting near them. Steven Douglas,
Samuel Livingstone, Shiv and Sean Harley (now known as Seraph), look
less phased than some of the newer wrestlers around the table.]
Walker: MSW is a fantastic opportunity for
the MWF to nurture new talent and find exciting young wrestlers, and
perk up some of those who need reminding why they joined this
profession. Please raise your glasses again to the MSW and Gino
Battisti it's General Manager!
[The glasses are raised once again and Battisti stands up to take
a bow at Walker's request. The MWF CEO signals for Battisti to take a
seat, and clears his throat before addressing the hall.]
Walker: I think it's time we moved onto our
first award. I'd like to welcome to present this award, one of the
MWF and MCW greatest tag teams of all time…"The Canadian Connection",
Rick Jones and Hart Evans!
[Walker steps backwards as from underneath the MWF banner walk
"The Canadian Connection", they lap up the applause of the crowd and
greet Walker with firm handshakes. Walker steps aside as Jones and
Evans take centre stage. Jones has with him a large gold envelope.]
Evans: It's great to be back here and see so
many of you assembled. Just like to say well done to Walker for
keeping the MWF going for these two years. Unfortunately MCW fell by
the way side but, MWF and MCW, that MCPW series was great.
Jones: It sure was. Shall we get down to
business Hart?
Evans: Sounds like a good idea to me.
Jones: This award really is prestigious, the
Best Tag Team Award.
Evans: I've been watching in 2004 and it
hasn't been the best year for tag teams in the MWF, but these guys
have really shone through and set the standard.
Jones: They don't care about criticism and
injury because they always give one hundred percent to the cause,
they are MWF through and through.
Evans: The winners of the MWF Best Tag Team
Award 2005 are…
Jones and Evans: Kronik!
[The crowd cheer and applaud as the camera cuts to the table where
Sozzey and Mak are sitting. They look stunned at the win, Sozzey pats
Mak on the back and the brothers make their way through the rows of
tables to the front.]
JP: I thought these guys would win it,
currently holding the MWF Tag Team Championships they have been
through a lot to get where they are today.
Sully: The Master Plan will be gutted, but
at the end of the day Kronik have really won round some people with
their impressive displays in the last quarter of this year.
JP: Two time MWF Tag Team Champions. Sozzey
and Mak.
[Sozzey and Mak climb the short flight of steps and shake hands
with "The Canadian Connection" as Walker passes them their trophies.
Sozzey kisses it and clutches it to his chest, as Mak steps up to the
mic.]
Mak: I have to say we really did not expect
to win at all. I mean, we are the MWF Tag Team Champions but you've
got guys like Wayne, Iniquity, Tempest, The Hobo all up against us
and they are fantastic. We'd like to thank our family, the fans for
believing in us…the management for keeping patience with us.
Sozzey: Especially Wayne, that guy has
always believed in our talent and knows that we'll always give him a
great match.
Mak: Thanks everyone, have a good
night.
[Kronik make their way off through the exit with the "Canadian
Connection", Mak looks stunned at having won as Walker steps up to
the mic again.]
Walker: Great to see Kronik really finding
their feet in the MWF now that they have the time. We're going to
take a little break now and we'll be back with two more awards, the
Best Pay - Per - View and Best Match. See you in a few
minutes.
