Jethro "Thunder" Collins
versus
Intruder w/Marisa
Singles Match
Referee: Chad Pattison
Writer: Jake Rhodes
JP: It's time for the first match of the
night Sully and we're about to see two rookies in the MwF, both are
under short-term contracts...
Sully: And I've heard rumours that whoever
loses this match could be out of a job. This isn't just a fight for
the sake of fighting. It's a fight to stay in the MWF!
JP: Lets not got ahead of ourselves Sully,
you know you can't substantiate those rumours.
Sully: Stan who?
JP: Forget it Sully. Now we're going to head
over to the ring where Peter Santos will introduce the two
competitors.
[The camera pans to the ring where referee Chad Pattison is stood
in the middle dressed in the black and white stripes. Peter Santos
steps out from the corner to stand next to Pattison, Santos is
wearing a well tailoured tuxedo. The crowd still seem a little
unsettled but their background noise is sounded out by Santos'
booming voice.]
Peter Santos: This match is a singles match and is scheduled
for one fall. Introducing first, from Boston Massachusetts. He stands
at an imposing six feet and five inches and weighs in at a lean 220
pounds. Here is Jethro "Thunder" Collins"!
[Jethro Collins makes his way to the ring with little fuss. A few
sections of the crowd jeer him but for the most part the crowd is
dead. The masked man slides underneath the bottom rope and runs the
ropes a few times to warm up as his opponent is introduced.]
Peter Santos: And now making his way to the ring from the
fighting lands of Brooklyn, New York. He stands at six feet and two
inches and weighs a ripped 228 pounds. Being led to the ring by the
beautiful Marisa this is Intruder!
["Stick 'Em Up" by Quarashi booms around the arena as Marisa and
Intruder strut to the ring. The majority of cheers appear to be for
Marisa but Intruder laps them up as if they are directed at him.
Intruder kisses Marisa on the cheek before walking up the ring steps
and stepping through the ropes.]
JP: Both men are in the ring....
Sully: I wouldn't mind being in Marisa's
ring.
JP: Whoa! Sully you're going to get us
cancelled!
Sully: Get your mind out of the gutter JP.
I'm talking about the ring Marisa has in her home which she uses to
train.
[Chad Pattison calls for the timekeeper to ring the bell and the
match gets under way. Like a battle of gladiators both men circle
each other, waiting for their opponent to make the first move so they
can counter. Intruder feigns going for a leg takedown which fools
Collins into moving to the side and he walks right into spinning
wheelkick. Marisa cheer Intruder on as he locks "Thunder" Collins
into a standing side headlock. Collins pushes Intruder into the ropes
and sends him down with a shoulder block. Jethro Collins jumps over
Intruder and runs the ropes, Intruder pops up and jumps over Collins
with a leapfrog. With both men running at full pace Intruder is able
to hit a Hart Attack clothesline. Intruder goes for the cover.
1.....2.KICK OUT! Collins practically bench presses Intruder off of
him to kick out. Collins quickly scrambles to his feet and spears
Intruder in an awesome display of speed and power.]
JP: Damn! He just speared Intruder right out
of his boots! Intruder might have some ruptured abdominal muscles
after that move.
Sully: I don't know if Intruder will be able
to get up after that spear.
[Collins immediately picks Intruder up and delivers an impressive
T-Bone suplex. Showing his ruthless streak Collins forces the heel of
his boot into Intruder's eye sockets before Chad Pattison makes him
break the hold. Collins backs off for a second to allow Intruder to
get back up. As soon as Intruder is able to stand Collins locks him
in a front face lock, hoists him up and delivers a suplex into a
bodyslam. Collins hooks the leg for the cover. 1.....2...KICK OUT!
Jethro Collins curses at the Chad Pattison for the "slow count" and
then starts kicking at Intruder's ribs.]
Sully: "Thunder" Collins came so close to
the win he could taste it. If Intruder can't mount some sort of
offence soon then he's going to lose this match, and lose it
royally.
JP: I have to agree with you Sully, Intruder
somehow needs to get back in the match. Jethro Collins has had the
advantage for practically the entire match.
[Collins drops to his knees and begins raining in with clubbing
forearms to Intruder's jaw. Marisa begins slapping the mat in an
attempt to get the crowd to cheer for Intruder. Steadily the crowds
claps begin to get louder but Intruder seems unable to get away from
the barrage of forearms bombing into his face. Collins stands up and
tries to get the crowd to shut up by threatening them but it doesn't
appear to work. With Collins distracted Intruder reaches out for his
feet and is able to trip him, "Thunder" goes face first into the mat.
Intruder uses the ropes to help himself up and staggers over to the
feet of Jethro Collins. Intruder looks to all sides of the crowd
before locking Collins into a sharpshooter. Marisa jumps up and down
cheering her charge on as he leans back into the submission move.
Chad Pattison is down by Collins, checking to see if he'll quit but
he shakes his head refusing to give in. Jethro Collins tries to
scramble to the rope but Intruder uses his leg power to stop his
movement. Running out of ideas Collins reaches back and manages to
reach Intruder's head. In a modified surfboard submission hold
Collins wrenches back on Intruder's neck while Intruder sits back
into the sharpshooter.]
JP: Collins and Intruder both have each
other in a submission moves! It's a case of who wants it most.
Sully: In that position they look like a
circle of pain, who has the guts to stick it out and hear their
opponent say "I quit" before they do.
[Chad Pattison asks both men if they will submit but both refuse
to do so. Intruder is screaming in pain, his throat stretched back
and his Adam's apple bobbing up and down. Collins doesn't seem to be
flagging as much and slowly the sharpshooter is eased off allowing
Collins to focus more on tightening his own submission move rather
than surviving his own pain. Marisa shouts encouragement to Intruder
but it has no effect, Intruder's body begins to slump. Chad Pattison
takes another look at Intruder and calls for the bell.]
Peter Santos: Your winner by knockout, Jethro "Thunder"
Collins!
JP: Collins has done it in a most
spectacular fashion, he snatched victory from the jaws of
defeat.
Sully: It was a great piece of improvisation
from Collins to turn that sharpshooter into a double submission hold,
I don't think I've ever seen that before.
JP: It was a great display of intestinal
fortitude from Jethro to hold on and win the match. The young man
could have a very bright future here in MWF.
Sully: He sure as hell does, Intruder's
career not only in the MWF but anywhere could be over after that
beating.
JP: We're going to take a short break now,
we'll see you on the otherside with Kid Insanity and Biggles, what a
strange combination but it could drag Kid Insanity out from the
gutter.
Sully: I hope so, he's one hell of a
wrestler when he gets going.
