"The Human Killing Machine" Steven Douglas

versus

"The Poet" Benjamin Pratt

Singles Match

Referee: Chad Pattison

Writer: Ed Walker

[The crowd are seated, awaiting the next match as Peter Santos climbs the steps into the ring....he glances to referee Chad Pattison.]

JP: Peter Santos about to get things rolling here for tonight's second match and it's not going to be an easy match.

Sully: Sure isn't, Benjamin Pratt is a new guy but he has amazing talent.

JP: Steven Douglas has switched from being a likeable guy to a bastard, turning his back on Lee "Razor" Watson last week on Dynamite and siding with a man we believed he hated...

Sully: ....Eddie Benoit is one of the best wrestlers out there at the moment, and I'm surprised he hasn't tasted gold here in the MWF yet.

JP: You can't deny that both Douglas and Benoit have talent, but Douglas has under-achieved and Benoit has been a little unlucky,

Sully: Benoit is the permanent victim of "Twisted Vizion" screwjobs but he is fighting hard and eventually he'll get to where he wants to be.

JP: "The Poet" Benjamin Pratt is the opponent for Douglas tonight, and he's not a popular guy at the moment due to some rather outspoken interviews which annoyed a few guys in the back.

Sully: That's one of the golden rules, don't piss off the rest of the roster because they will make your life hell.

[Peter Santos is now ready, he checks his notes card before beginning to below around the arena.]

Peter Santos: This match is scheduled for one fall, introducing first, weighing in at 283 lbs., from Hell, Michigan, a member of "Klub Kaos", "Human Killing Machine" Steven Douglas!

[Fresh jeers hit the arena roof as "Woke Up This Morning" by Nickelback hits the PA system and Steven Douglas comes striding out with green strobe lights flashing behind him. He raises his arms to the heavens and lets the green light wash over him, the crowd shout abuse at the defected wrestler.]

JP: He commited an act of treason, turning against Lee Watson and the poor kid was beaten down.

Sully: But Jonny Fairplay decided to be the big man and come to the rescue, we hadn't seen him for weeks and he thinks he can just pop up out of nowhere and save the day.

JP: Nothing wrong with that, I'm a big fan of Jonny Fairplay and what he did was an act of justice.

Sully: Justice? There is never any justice in professional wrestling!

[Steven Douglas has reached the ring apron, he darts between the ropes and stands in the centre of the ring....looking out across the eight thousand strong crowd, he smiles and gives an assured knowledge. The music begins to die away as Peter Santos raises the mic once more.]

Peter Santos: And the opponent, weighing in at 200 lbs., from Edinberg, Virginia, "The Poet" Benjamin Pratt!

[Fuel's "Won't Back Down" hits the PA system and the crowd are on their feet jeering for Pratt, the MWF rookie walks out with a smug grin on his face. He looks down the entrance ramp and laughs as Steven Douglas shouts at Benjamin Pratt to bring it down to the ring. Benjamin Pratt suddenly looks a bit startled as a chant of "Fuck You Pratt!" is started up by a minority of the crowd and soon the majority of the crowd joins in.]

JP: Just because you're in your home state does not mean you become liked by the MWF fans...

Sully: ....they'd cheer anything if it was pushed the right way in front of them, Pratt seems very self assured for his first time on the MWF stage.

JP: Well he's a young man, only twenty years of age and it's incredible to see such confidence.

Sully: I know one man who will be watching this match very carefully....

JP: ....who?

Sully: Rob Smith, the man who beat Pratt last week on Dynamite and was involved in that fantastic table match to kick off the show.

JP: Rob Smith's a talent we have to watch in the MWF, he could become massive.

[Benjamin Pratt reaches the ring and "The Poet" rolls under the bottom rope and moves to the turnbuckle where he climbs and taunts the fans. They jeer back at him as Chad Pattison prepares himself, he checks Pratt for any weapons before giving the all clear and the crowd roar as the match starts. Neither wrestler takes an early advantage as they pace the ring, eyeing each other cautiously.]

Sully: Steven Douglas needs a good match here tonight to establish himself in the MWF, he's had a terrible start but hopefully "Klub Kaos" can assist him in finding another side to himself.

JP: We saw that side as he turned his back on Lee Watson and beat the young lad, mind you Steven Douglas is only twenty-two himself. The MWF roster is a very young one, a lot of youthfullness around...Wildfire is only twenty.

Sully: And he's the MWF Television Champion who will be battling the age and experience of Insane Wayne later when they meet for the MWF Television Championship.

JP: That is a match that Wildfire cannot afford to lose....

[The two men have locked up, both men show their dity ways as they both attempt to sweep the opposite's leg out and it ends up with both men sprawled on the floor, Pratt is up first and his speed shows as a right boot is planted into the face of Douglas. "The Human Killing Machine" is forced back and the more experienced MWF wrestler is sent charging into the ropes, he comes back and knocks Benjamin Pratt out of his boots with a massive clothesline that sends the Virginia crowd up in cheers. Steven Douglas looks around absolutly stunned at the cheering crowd, he gives them the finger and the crowd turn those cheers to jeers.]

Sully: It appears Steven Douglas can be forgiven for what he did last week.

JP: I blame Eddie Benoit personally, he's got inside the mind of Steven Douglas and really corrupted him and that is not a good thing because "The Human Killing Machine" was just beginning to find his stride before Benoit disrupted him.

Sully: Douglas finding his stride, his losing stride maybe!

JP: He's going to win tonight, his tenth MWF match and it's time he had a win.

[Douglas looks strong as he grabs the lighter Pratt and locks in a move resembling the tazzmission...the arms of Steven Douglas are wrapped tightly around the neck of Benjamin Pratt and he roars with pain as Steven Douglas has the move locked in tight. The MWF crowd are beginning to be pumped up by the fight and they clap as Benjamin Pratt's arm slams against the mat trying to build some momentum to break free....however Steven Douglas is not giving in and he wrenches the neck of Benjamin Pratt and a blood curdling scream goes up from "The Poet".]

Sully: Ouch....that really has to hurt.

JP: This is a dangerous submission move from Douglas, he's really been working on this side of his game....the more technical side, able to grind down opponents until they are there for the taking.

Sully: He needs to keep his focus more, the key to a good wrestler is their ability to concentrate...

JP: ....he's certainly doing that here, Benjamin Pratt has no breathing space at all.

[Pratt's arm is still thumping the canvas, shaped as a fist as he builds momentum and the crowd swing the other way and begin to get behind the home state boy. Referee Chad Pattison checks the hold, and notices that Douglas is now illegally choking Pratt.....Pattison shouts at Steven Douglas to release, issuing a five count and Douglas at four and a half lets the hold go. Benjamin Pratt rolls away, clutching his neck area as Steven Douglas wastes no time in getting to his feet and going after Benjamin Pratt. "The Poet" rolls across the ring, under the ropes and to the outside where he grabs the barrier and pulls himself up. The crowd jeer at this act of cowardice and Steven Douglas is livid in the ring.]

Sully: That's not cowardice, that is smart play from the rookie, he knows that Steven Douglas was really beginning to push home an advantage so he's gone outside to get his breath and strength back.

JP: I don't blame him, Steven Douglas was looking immense inside the ring...he wasn't going to break that hold until Pattison noticed it was illegal.

Sully: Technically gifted is Steven Douglas, there is no need to cheat if you are that gifted.

JP: Douglas is fuming at Pratt....

Sully: ......I hope Douglas doesn't try anything reckless.

[Chad Pattison is about to start the count, when "The Poet" slides under the bottom rope. Douglas attempts to grab him but the speed advantage pays off for Pratt and he ducks the arms of Douglas and slides around the back of him with a waist lock. The crowd roar as a german release suplex sends Steven Douglas head over heels and he impacts on the canvas. Benjamin Pratt goes for a cover, hooking the leg ......1.......2! Steven Douglas kicks out of the cover and the crowd clap slightly, beginning to grow tired of the contest.]

JP: Douglas was good there, he had to get out of that move....but what speed from young Pratt.

Sully: He knows his way around a wrestling ring, make no mistake about that...he knows exactly what he has to do to win matches.

JP: Both these men want the win so badly, it seems unfair that one of them has to lose.

Sully: Here goes Pratt again...

["The Poet" makes his way to the turnbuckle, Steven Douglas is still down, really feeling the impact of such a high powered move. The crowd give an upswell of support to Benjamin Pratt as he makes his way up the turnbuckle, he grips it tightly as he reaches the summit. He stands up and Steven Douglas is still only on his knees. "The Human Killing Machine" rises to his feet and the crowd explode as Benjamin Pratt comes off the top rope and hits a perfect missile dropkick in the face of Steven Douglas. Both men stay down, but Benjamin Pratt slowly clambers to his feet and drops over Steven Douglas for the cover .....1......2.! Steven Douglas breaks free of the cover again.]

JP: Close! What a spectacular move from Benjamin Pratt, he's got the speed advantage here tonight.

Sully: Steven Douglas just can't compete with that sort of air superiority.....he's a bigger man and going up top is not one of his strengths, Douglas needs to get Pratt into a brawl.

JP: I don't know, Pratt may not be the biggest wrestler but he's not going to back down from a fight.

Sully: This is more what Douglas needs to do!

[Steven Douglas is brought to his feet by Pratt, but the crowd jeer as a knee to the groin of Pratt brings him staggering towards Douglas. Steven Douglas irish whips Pratt into the corner and crashes into the corner himself, smashing Pratt back into the turnbuckle. Douglas fires off some sharp left and rights into the mid section of "The Poet" and the crowd jeer "The Human Killing Machne" as he turns round and smirks at them.]

JP: Steven Douglas' new attitude is terrifying, the man is psychotic....

Sully: ...he needs to be if he wants a second MWF victory, can you believe this is his tenth match in the MWF and this could only be his second victory.

JP: He beat an MWF temporary roster wrestler, and now he's going to try and beat another here, when will he beat someone of equal standing?

Sully: I don't know JP, but he's not going to give up here, he's battling and fighting every inch of the way, make no mistake about Benjamin Pratt, he's a good wrestler.

[Steven Douglas hoists Benjamin Pratt up onto the turnbuckle, the crowd rising like a wave as they expect some high flying action. Steven Douglas gets "The Poet" up on the top rope, Douglas himself is standing on the first rope....he spits in the eyes of Benjamin Pratt, prompting a flurry of jeers from the crowd and the hand of Steven Douglas clamps around the throat of Benjamin Pratt. "The Poet" is wide eyed, trying to clear the spit from his eyes as Steven Douglas hoists him up into the air and the camera bulbs flash around the arena as "The Human Killing Machine" chokeslams Benjamin Pratt off the top rope! The entire ring shakes under Chad Pattison as he looks worriedly over, and Pattison scrambles down to the mat as Steven Douglas desperatly hooks the leg and looks for the cover .....1.......2! Benjamin Pratt kicks out to the jeers of the crowd, Douglas is frustrated as he slams his hand onto the canvas, indicating to Chad Pattison how a three count should be.]

JP: There is no use telling Chad Pattison how to do his job, he already knows how.

Sully: That was a bit of a slow count, I reckon there is some sort of conspiracy theory against Steven Douglas, the poor bastard never gets a break of luck.

JP: He's got to create his own luck, and he doesn't usually choose very easily opponents.

Sully: Nothing wrong with a man who likes a challenge.

["The Human Killing Machine" is remonstrating with Chad Pattison as Benjamin Pratt begins to scramble to his feet...he scrambles over behind Steven Douglas and the crowd boo loudly as Pratt brings his hand up in a low blow on Douglas. "The Human Killing Machine" crumples to the mat, holding his lower area as Benjamin Pratt laughs loudly before staggering across to the turnbuckle. "The Poet" heads upwards again, a signifcant number of the crowd are jeering him very loudly.]

Sully: Don't this crowd have any respect for a man who lives in their home state?

JP: Obviously not, he appears as a traitor not as a hero.

Sully: He's going to make himself a legend in the MWF, mark my words, "The Poet" has talent and he knows it.

JP: His poems aren't half bad either...

[Benjamin Pratt is up on the top rope, he steadies himself and the cameras are flashing once again as Pratt comes off the top rope and executes a moonsault, pivoting high and finishing the move clinically and it has Steven Douglas pinned, Chad Pattison counts ....1.....2...! At the last moment "The Human Killing Machine" forces Benjamin Pratt off him and both men stay down on the canvas, taking deep breaths as they consider what to do next.]

Sully: This is the time when one of these men can win it, they're both great wrestlers so I'm not bothered who wins it.

JP: I think Steven Douglas may break down and cry if he loses this match....

Sully: "The Human Killing Machine", cry?

JP: Yeah, I think losing nine matches with only one victory to your name would be a reason to cry, I know I'd be a river of tears in that situation.

[Steven Douglas surprisingly is the first to move, he raises himself back up to a standing position...jerking forwards with rather strange movements. He crouches down and extends his arm, waiting for Benjamin Pratt to stand up. "The Poet" is slowly getting to his feet, the crowd are watching on as Benjamin Pratt turns round and walks straight into the waiting hand of Steven Douglas. The crowd scream as "The Poet" is lifted up for a chokeslam, Steven Douglas throws Benjamin Pratt straight up in the air and as he comes down, catches him again in a chokeslam position and drives "The Poet" down onto the mat! The crowd go wild at this incredible move.]

Sully: What the hell was that!?

JP: To Hell and Back! That's Steven Douglas' new form of attack....

Sully: .....damn, Benjamin Pratt isn't getting back up after that move!

JP: Here's the cover!

[Steven Douglas has emphatically covered Benjamin Pratt, the crowd roar with Chad Pattison as he counts.....1......2......3! The bell sounds as Steven Douglas leaps to his feet, his eyes burning with delight as he raises his arms and brings them down suddenly, as he does a blaze of fire shoots from the turnbuckles and he roars with delight.]

Sully: He's done it! He's done it! Steven Douglas claims only his second victory in the MWF, and there are no tears this time...just an emphatic win from "The Human Killing Machine".

JP: A clinical finish, absolutly clinical, with a move like to Hell and Back, Steven Douglas can expect a few more victories.

Sully: He's going to be hard to beat from now on, he's got Eddie Benoit at his side as well and Eddie's a top wrestler.

JP: Benoit's been making stunning progress up the ranks of the MWF, now it's time for Steven Douglas to follow him up there.

Peter Santos: And your winner, through pinfall, Steven Douglas!

[Steven Douglas turns towards the entrance way, standing in the entrance way are Travis Knight and Thunder Bull who earlier attacked Rob Smith and Adam The Righteous during their match. The two men slowly make their way down the entrance ramp, cheers greeting them from the crowd.]

JP: These two men are making a big impact on Dynamite tonight, they're anxious to make a really big effect on the MWF.

Sully: They're cheaters yet the crowd love them for it, if Steven Douglas had interferred in that match he'd be described as a cheat.

JP: That's because he is!

Sully: I didn't see him cheat in that match....he finished it with one of the most devestating moves.

[Benjamin Pratt has managed to stand, he looks up the entrance ramp to where Travis Knight and Thunder Bull are staring past Steven Douglas at the fallen Benjamin Pratt. The crowd goes wild as Knight and Bull break into a sprint and charge to the ring, "The Human Killing Machine" braces himself for impact, crouching low but Thunder Bull and Travis Knight charge straight past him and attack Benjamin Pratt! The crowd roar as Thunder Bull spears "The Poet" to the mat, he rolls out of the way and a baseball slide from Travis Knight sends Benjamin Pratt tumbling from the ring. Thunder Bull shouts abuse down at the fallen Benjamin Pratt while Travis Knight climbs the turnbuckle and taunts the fans.]

JP: What a viscous attack, Benjamin Pratt is brutally dumped clean out of the ring...

Sully: ....that was a disgrace, they shouldn't be allowed to get away with such maliscious actions inside the MWF ring, someone needs to stamp their authority on this tearaway team.

JP: They are not tearaways, but perhaps the MWF does need to curb this youthful enthusiasm.

Sully: Steven Douglas doing a very wise thing, and getting the hell out of there.

[Steven Douglas has made his way up the entrance ramp, with a slightly confused look on his face as he watches Travis Knight and Thunder Bull control the ring.]

JP: We're going to take a break here, when we come back I think we'll find out just what Thunder Bull and Travis Knight are up to!

Sully: They've certainly made an impression, but I don't think everyone in the MWF will be too happy with them....

JP: ....someone in the MWF is always unhappy!
