·        Awarded Certificate of Merit by CBSE for standing amongst top 0.1% of successful candidates in 2 subjects (Physics and Computer Science) in AISSCE.

·        Awarded the National Talent Search Scholarship by the Government of India.

·        Was awarded the Best All-rounder of Madhya Pradesh in Class XI by The Hindustan Times.

 

Olympiads

·        Won Gold Medal at the 6th International Astronomy Olympiad held in Crimean Astrophysical Observatory, Ukraine in 2001.

·        Won Gold Medal at the National Physics Olympiad 2001 and attended the International Physics Olympiad Training Camp at HBCSE, Mumbai.

·        Won Gold Medal at the 4th International Astronomy Olympiad held in Crimean Astrophysical Observatory, Ukraine in 1999.

·        Won Silver Medal at the 5th International Astronomy Olympiad held in Special Astrophysical Observatory, Russia in 2000.

·        This has been the best performance ever by an Indian at the International Olympiads (2 Golds and 1 Silver).

·        Have been invited to give lectures at the International Astronomy Olympiad selection-cum-training camp for 3 consecutive years (2002-04). The Indian Team of 2003 was the winner at International Astronomy Olympiad held at Sweden.

 

Extra-Curricular Activities and Achievements

·        Lead Guitarist in our band. Guitar player for my Hostel for all the Inter Hall events. Awarded Special Mention for the contribution to Hostel Activities.

·        Won 3rd prize in Western Vocals at ‘Chaos 2004’, IIM Ahmedabad.

·        Delivered a lecture on ‘The Big Family’ (Our Solar System) in IIT Bombay, 2002.

·        Selected as the National Semifinalist in the Red Rover Goes to Mars Student Navigator Competition organized by the Planetary Society, USA in 2001.

·        Reached the Quarter Finals of Bournvita Quiz Contest 1998.

·        Represented school in various city and state level quizzes on General Knowledge, Science, Astronomy, Philately, Archaeology and won several prizes.

 

Projects

·        Course Project - Calculation of Dew Temperature of a system using Virial Equations and the UNIFAC Liquid phase model.

·        Graph Plotter - Made a Graph Plotter in Fortran which can plot graphs and apply mathematical transformations on it.

·        Magnetic Levitation – Project done at Regional Research Laboratory, Bhopal to understand the principles of Magnetic levitation and initiate ideas on its usage.

·        Total Solar Eclipse 1999 – Calculated durations and other technical details. Went with a team of Scientists to Surendranagar, Gujarat to check the calculations.

·        Seminar Project – Currently working on Network Analysis in Metabolic Pathways under Prof. K.V.Venkatesh, Dept. of Chem Engg, IIT Bombay.

·        Project coordinator in the Astronomy Club Telescope project at IIT Bombay.

·        Was a Student Facilitator at the National Astronomy Olympiad selection-cum-training camp for the years 2002-04.

·        Was the School Captain of Jawaharlal Nehru School, Bhopal in 2001-02.

·        Worked as an organizer for Workshops at Techfest 2003.
