DIET

Rocky finishing off his BARF meal...mmm must have been yummy:)

We feed and recommend the BARF Diet. BARF stands for “Biologically Appropriate Raw Food” or “Bones And Raw Food”. Some of the foods we feed are -

Chicken Carcasses
Chicken Mince
Chicken Necks
Beef Mince
Kangaroo Mince
Lamb Chops
Vegetables
Fruit
Eggs
Egg Shells (finely crushed)

We've just found a new product which we're starting to feed. It's a BARF diet formulated for Greyhounds, but as Rocky does so much Endurance, Agility, & Speed activities, we've decided to try it out. We also don't have to feed as much of it as we have been feeding the BARF we've been making ourselves, as it's only 20g of food/1KG of dog's weight. We know a few breeders who've tried it on non-Greyhound breeds, and the outcomes have been excellent. We buy it direct from the makers in Brisbane, so it's a bit cheaper for us than if we got our local pet shop to order it in for us.

We can also buy Our Chicken Carcasses, and Chicken Necks, as well as Meaty Bones direct from "Big Dog Pet Foods", as they do a great bulk price, which is quite hard to beat. So anyone who doesn't mind driving to North Brisbane suburbs for their food, check them out by clicking the link below.

When we go on holidays, or just for something different, we buy them some “Eagle Pack Holistic” Dog Biscuits, or "Nature's Gift All Natural" tinned food. When we're doing training, we use "Nature's Gift" Treats, as they are moist, and easy to break into bits unlike some other treats on the market.

When it comes to special natural additives for our dogs, we like to give them Blackmore's Glucosamine, and Fish Oil for preventative treatment of Arthritis, Ranvet's "Sprint Oil" for added Omega 3 & 6, and Ilium Nutrigel every so often for lots of good nutrients!
