Detail
The Chinese emperor Qian Long ordered the
officials to write a summary of the Complete Library and Rows of
Essentials of the Imperial Library (Yu 200).
The official made two copies of Rows of Essentials of the Imperial
Library, and one was stored in the Hall of Literary Elegance while the other
was stored in the Study of Lingering Flavors in the garden of Eternal Spring in
the Yuan Ming Garden (Yu 200). As a
result, these copies could still be preserved and benefit the descendants even
though one of the places caught on fire.
