Detail

The Hall of Literary Glory was originally the study room of the crowned prince.  However, the Chinese emperor Jia Jing in the Ming Dynasty changed this hall to his study room of classics.  Green represents nobles and officials, so the Hall of Literary Glory was originally used green tiled roof (Dorn 8).  Since yellow is the imperial color, the roof of the Hall of Literary Glory was changed to yellow tiles after Chinese emperor Jia Jing changed the room to his use (Dorn 8).
