Hashem had given the Land: Land of the Canaanite, Lebanon, until the great river, the Euphrates River.

Do not show favoritism in judgement. And any matter too difficult I told you to bring to me.
The spies
Moshe told the people to go up to possess it when the first arrived at the border
People insisted on sending spies to see which road to take and to which cities to come
Moshe agreed and took 12 spies—one of each tribe.
Spies brought back the fruit of Eshcol – the huge cluster of grapes
They brought back an evil report of giants in the Land
In spite of Moshe’s admonition, they instilled fear and rebellion into the people
Hashem declared that none of the men of the generation, except for Calev ben Yephunneh and Yehoshua ben Nun, would enter the Land
The people tried to get Him to relent
They decide to go up, but they are told that He will not be with them.
Mount Seir – Edom
Edom promised to Esau’s children; Israel told not to take it.
Israel paid for food and water.
Moab
Hashem said not to distress Moab, go to war with them, or take their land.
Children of Lot give Ar as inheritance.
The Emim (giants) were displaced by Moab, and the Horites by Edom.
Ammon
Hashem said not to distress Ammon, for it is an inheritance of the children of Lot.
They displaced the Rephaim (giants), who they called Zamzumim.
Hashem commands Israel to go into the Land
Traveled between Kadesh-barnea to Zered Brook for 38 years, until generation—men of war (men over 21 years of age)--died out.
Hashem illustrated how the children of Esau, Moab, and Ammon had displaced giants in their lands.
Hashem says He has placed dread of Israel into the peoples in the Land.
Sihon conquered first
Hashem hardened the heart of Sihon, king of Heshbon.
Hashem ordered the people to go take Heshbon.
Israel destroyed the cities, killing all the people, taking the animals and booty for themselves—from Aroer to Gilead.
Defeat of Og
Hashem commanded not to fear Og, king of Bashan.
Israel took all 60 cities—fortified with high walls, doors, and bars--of the region of Argob.
Destroyed all the people, took the animals and booty of the cities for themselves.
Og was last king of the Rephaim, whose iron bed was nine cubits long and four cubits wide.
Inheritance of Reuven, Gad, and Manasseh
To Reuven and Gad Moshe gave from Aroer, half the mountain of Gilead.
The rest of Gilead and the entire Bashan (the kingdom of Og) was given to the half-tribe of Manasseh.
Yair ben Manasseh took the region of Argov to the border of Geshurite.
Machir ben Manasseh was given Gilead.
Moshe reminds them of their promise to help the rest of the tribes secure their inheritance before settling in theirs.
Words to Yehoshua
I commanded Yehoshua at that time, saying, "Your eyes have seen everything that Hashem, your Gd, has done to these two kings; so will Hashem do to all the kings where you cross over. You shall not fear them, for Hashem, your Gd—He shall wage war for you." – Dvarim 3:21-22
