RE: Weekly Message from Bud Macfarlane, Founder of CatholiCity.com
Volume VI, Number 5
Dear CatholiCity Citizen,
I hope this final week before Easter is going well for you. As always, I'll
be staying up on Good Friday, interceding for you and your families. I've
got College Stuff. We've got a new audio tape from the Mary Foundation in
the pipeline. Let's roll...
"He who would do some great things in this short
life must apply himself to work with such a
concentration of force as, to idle spectators who
live only to amuse themselves, looks like insanity."
Francis Parkman
1. AT LONG LAST. It's been over a year since we've released an all-new
Catholic audio tape, but we're in the final stages of production for an
early May release after several unavoidable delays. Once again, the talk is
by the amazing Father Larry Richards, and it's worth the wait. Through this
Weekly Message, CatholiCity Citizens will once again be the first to know
when this new free recording--in both audio cassette and CD format--is
available. As Drudge says, "developing..."
2. BEST BUYS. If you're not rich and you have a big family and you're
worried about how you're going to afford to send your children to college--a
truly Catholic college where and the teachings of the Church are the
foundation for academics and student life--here are three relatively
affordable choices for you:
A. Our Lady of Corpus Christi College, Corpus Christi, Texas
Cost per year, including Room and Board: $13,800

B. Ave Maria College, Ypsilanti, Michigan
Cost per year, including Room and Board: $13,700

C. Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Academy, Barry's Bay, Ontario
Cost per year, including Room and Board: around $5,000 (U.S)

Financial aid is available at Ave Maria and Corpus Christi. All three are
accepting applications for Fall 2002. I've been personally involved with
each college. Families in the United States should not hesitate to consider
Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Academy in Canada, and not merely because of the
incredible low cost. Seat of Wisdom offers a rigorous, comprehensive
one-year program on a lovely retreat-like campus in a beautiful part of
Ontario; its credits are accepted by Ave Maria College and Franciscan
University of Steubenville for sophomore year transfers. With all due
respect to more well-known and excellent institutions such as Franciscan
University, Thomas Aquinas College and Christendom, my oldest son would
likely begin at Our Lady Seat of Wisdom if he was a high school senior
today.
