In a close game it was the Lake Erie Mohawks 4, the Harvey Wallbangers 2 in 12
innings at SAFECO Field.

The game was deadlocked at 2 after nine full innings.  Lake Erie ended up
winning it in the 12th inning.  Jimmie Foxx led off and keyed the rally when
he laced a base-knock, and an error was also committed.  After an out was
recorded, Benny Kauff came to the plate and drew a walk.  Kauff stole second
with some aggressive base running.  Mickey Cochrane stepped in and he drew a
walk to load the bases.  Tip O'Neill stepped into the box and drew a walk
which scored a run.  Joe Jackson contributed to the rally and hit a sacrifice
fly scoring the final run of the inning.  Lake Erie ended up with 8 hits for
the game while Harvey had 5.

Tom Seaver(1-1) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 4 innings. Seaver
got relief help from Hoyt Wilhelm who gained credit for his 2nd save.  Dick
Radatz(0-1) was the loser in relief.  He pitched 1 inning allowing 1 hit and
3 walks.
