Mickey Mantle went yard and had 3 RBI as the N. Ridgeville Bandits defeated
the Cleveland Mayors by a score of 11 to 4 at Municipal Stadium.

Cleveland never recovered after N. Ridgeville took the lead in the bottom of
the 2nd inning with 3 runs utilizing 2 base hits.  Albert Belle started the
scoring when he smashed a solo-shot out of the park (his 2nd of the season).
Eddie Mathews followed and he drew a walk.  Mathews was running on the next
pitch and he stole second.  After an out was recorded, Carlton Fisk stepped
up to the plate and he drew a walk.  Spud Chandler stepped into the box and
delivered a single scoring one more run.  After another out, Paul Molitor
came up and he reached on an error scoring the final run of the inning.  N.
Ridgeville rapped out 10 hits for the night. 

The winning pitcher was Chandler(1-0) who allowed 4 runs in 7 innings. Amos
Rusie(0-1) ended up with the loss.  He struggled with his control issuing 7
walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
