Goose Goslin cracked 3 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Limerick Hurlers defeated
the Kelso Hilanders 8 to 7 at Shibe Park.

Goslin enjoyed a great day at the plate.  He laced a single in the 2nd inning,
bombed a two-run dinger in the 3rd inning, smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in
the 7th inning and cleared the fences for a two-run home run (his 3rd of the
season) in the 8th inning.  This was the kind of game that many fans love as
the lead changed hands 6 times.

Ernie Shore(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 2/3 of an inning and
allowing 1 run. Billy Pierce gained credit for his 1st save.  The loss was
charged to Ron Guidry(0-1) in relief.  He gave up 1 run and 2 hits in 1/3 of
an inning.

Goslin said, 'It was just all timing. I had pretty good rhythm at the plate
tonight.  You've got to take advantage of mistakes when you can.  A couple
pitches were definitely up a little bit - right in my zone.
