40,440 fans watched an exciting game at Municipal Stadium.  The N. Ridgeville
Bandits topped the Sacramento Soches by the slimmest of margins, 5 to 4.

N. Ridgeville tallied 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning with the help of
3 hits.  The key offensive moment was provided by Mo Vaughn who made the N.
Ridgeville fans a happy lot when he laced a one-base hit scoring two
baserunners.  Sacramento had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.

The victory went to Vida Blue(1-0) who went 1 and 2/3 innings, allowing no
runs. Blue got help from Steve Howe who was credited with his 1st save.  Juan
Marichal(1-1) took the loss.

'It was a tough one to lose' said Sacramento's manager 'We'll get them next
time out.'
