Walter Johnson allowed Brentwood's manager to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game and left fielder Sammy Sosa jacked one out of the ballyard and had 4 RBI at Network Asc Coliseum as the Brentwood Bearcats beat the Lake Erie Mohawks by the count of 10 to 6. Brentwood brought 5 runs across the plate in the top of the 5th inning when they had 5 base hits. The key at-bat was by Sosa who deflated the spirits of the home town crowd when he belted a three-run homer (his 1st of the season). Brentwood had a total of 14 hits for the game. The victory went to Johnson(2-0) who went the distance allowing 6 runs. Pete Alexander(0-2) ended up with the loss. He was not very effective, surrendering 7 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings. |
