Dennis Eckersley was great in relief as the Cleveland Mayors topped the
Brentwood Bearcats by a score of 13 to 11 at Tiger Stadium.

George Foster provided much of the offense.  He laced a base-hit which plated
a run in the 3rd inning, ripped a base-knock scoring two baserunners in the
4th inning and tripled clearing the bases in the 6th inning.  Brentwood went
down without a fight in the bottom of the 9th. 

The win was credited to Herb Pennock(1-0) who went 2/3 of an inning allowing
no runs. Eckersley was credited with his 4th save.  Hal Newhouser(1-2)
absorbed the loss in relief.
