WEB GEMS- Bot 6th: Mickey Tettleton blocked the plate, saving a run!

Hank Greenberg jacked one out of the ballyard and had 2 RBI at Tiger Stadium
where the Brentwood Bearcats beat the Cleveland Mayors by the score of 8 to
6.

The game started off with Brentwood taking the lead in the first when they
tallied 3 runs on 4 hits.  The crucial at-bat was provided by Greenberg who
brought a roar from the partisan Tiger Stadium fans when he cracked a two-run
shot (his 7th of the season).  Cleveland had a chance in the 9th but they
came up short.

Herb Score(3-1) went 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the win. Goose
Gossage got the save, his 4th.  Sid Fernandez(0-3) was given the loss.  He
got hit pretty hard, allowing 9 hits and 3 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.

Cleveland's manager was subdued after the ballgame, 'That one really hurts.
If our guys had simply played more fundamentally sound, we could have won
that one.  That is what really ticks me off!'
