Catcher Willie McCovey rocketed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Sacramento
Soches ballclub embarrassed the Cleveland Mayors by the count of 14 to
4.

McCovey had a big day with his bat.  He cleared the fences for a two-run home
run in the 1st inning and lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' (his 4th of the
season) in the 3rd inning.  Sacramento kept the pressure on throughout the
contest as they scored in 6 different innings.

Whitey Ford(2-2) allowed 4 runs in 7 innings, and picked up the victory. Carl
Hubbell(1-3) was the loser.  He allowed 3 hits and 1 walk in 2/3 of an
inning.
