In a dramatic ending at SAFECO Field the Kelso Hilanders won in their last
at-bat beating the Grand River Ghostmen by the count of 4 to 3.

The game was decided in the 9th inning.  After an out was recorded, Willie
Randolph drew a walk.  Nellie Fox dug into the batters box next, but he
struck out.  Roberto Clemente then lined a one-base hit, and an error was
also committed, giving Kelso the victory as 34,819 happy fans celebrated
wildly.  Overall Kelso out-hit Grand River 10 to 5.

The victory went to Mitch Williams(1-2) who went 1 inning, allowing 1 run.
Bryan Harvey(0-3) took the loss in relief.  He was a hard-luck loser as he
did not allow an earned run in his 1 and 2/3 innings of work.
