McDowell(2-2) was tremendous on the mound for Kelso. He allowed only 3 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings lowering his ERA from 4.69 to 3.91. The left-handed McDowell lost his no-hit bid when Baby Doll Jacobson singled with nobody out in the 6th inning. Cleveland threatened in the 9th but Kelso was able to put down the rally. McDowell was helped out by Kazuhiro Sasaki who recorded his 3rd save. Carl Hubbell(1-4) was given the loss. He gave up 1 run and 11 hits in 9 innings. |
