Ridgeville Bandits by a score of 9 to 7 at Shibe Park. Bonds made sure the Limerick fans enjoyed themselves. He popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 1st inning, smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' (his 8th of the season) in the 4th inning and tripled in the 8th inning. For the game Limerick out-hit N. Ridgeville 16 to 12. The win went to Don Newcombe(3-4) who allowed 3 runs in 6 innings. Newcombe was helped out by Vic Willis who recorded his 1st save. Fergie Jenkins(4-3) was hit with the loss. He was touched for 3 homeruns in his 1 and 2/3 innings of work. 'It wasn't my best outing, but I'll take the win' Newcombe said. |
