WILD PITCHES- A.Rusie

The Cleveland Mayors came roaring back in the top of the ninth to spoil the
anticipated celebration of the hometown fans.  The final score,, was 8 to
7.

Cleveland came up with the deciding runs in the top of the 9th inning when
they scored 4 runs on 5 hits.  A wild affair, this game saw the lead change 5
times.

The winning pitcher was Dave Righetti(1-1) who allowed 1 run in 1/3 of an
inning. Righetti got relief help from Dennis Eckersley who gained credit for
his 10th save.  Hoyt Wilhelm(1-2) was the loser in relief.

Cleveland's manager was very happy after the game, 'It's great to come back
and win it in your last at bats! Our guys just wouldn't give up.  And did you
see the fans - one minute they're laughing and screaming down all sorts of
unprintable stuff at our guys - the next minute - SILENCE! Yes sir, a very
enjoyable win tonight!'
