The score was tied at 5 after nine. Lake Erie came out on top in the 12th inning. Tenace led off and started the attack as he laced a base-hit. Amos Rusie then bounced one in the dirt for a wild pitch. Jack Fournier then stroked a single. Fournier took second on the throw. After an out was recorded, Cory Snyder stepped up to the plate and he popped a two-run clout over the fence (his 1st of the season) resulting in an exciting win for Lake Erie and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. For the game Lake Erie out-hit Cleveland 14 to 6. The win was credited to Mike Jackson(1-0) who went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs. The right-handed Camnitz lost his no-hit bid when Baby Doll Jacobson singled with nobody out in the 7th inning. Rusie(2-6) took the loss in relief. |
