The Cleveland Mayors nipped the Sacramento Soches in 11 innings 5 to 4 at
League Park in a hard fought contest.

The score was tied at 4 after nine. Cleveland ended up winning it in the 11th
inning.  Barry Larkin singled.  After an out was recorded, Larkin came up and
he stole second base.  Eddie Collins then delivered a one-base hit.
Cleveland continued their aggressive style with another stolen base.  Rod
Carew followed, but he was set down on strikes.  George Sisler added to the
uprising and banged out a single making Cleveland the victors to the delight
of the home town faithful.  It was roller coaster of a game as the lead
change hands 5 times.

The victory was credited to Tim Keefe(2-5) who went 2 innings, allowing no
runs. The loss was charged to Dave Smith(1-1) in relief.  He allowed 1 run
and 3 hits in 2/3 of an inning.

Cleveland now has a record of 24-38. Sacramento can't seem to snap out of
their recent 'funk'.  Now they have a miserable 2-8 record over the last
couple weeks.
