Eddie Cicotte completed the game without help from the bullpen at SAFECO Field
as the Harvey Wallbangers came back dramatically to top the Sacramento Soches
by the score of 4 to 3.

Harvey came up with the deciding runs in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring
3 runs on 3 hits.  After an out was recorded, Gabby Hartnett got things going
when he laced a base-hit.  Ted Simmons stepped up to the plate and he drew a
walk.  Kenny Lofton struck out, unable to help the rally.  Bill Joyce stepped
in and he doubled knocking home two runners.  Nap Lajoie stepped into the box
and reached on an error.  Lajoie got a great jump and stole second easily.
Ted Williams next to the plate and he stroked a single making Harvey the
victors to the delight of the home town faithful.  Harvey had a total of 8
hits for the game.

Cicotte(7-4) allowed 3 runs on the game. Rollie Fingers(2-3) was tagged with
the loss in relief.  He gave up 2 runs and 2 hits in 1/3 of an inning.

'Now there is a lesson in perseverance for you,' Joyce noted.  'It was looking
pretty dim there for a while, but we just kept plugging away and it really
paid off in spades! And it was great to see the crowd go crazy there at the
end!'
