26,031 fans watched an exciting game at Tiger Stadium.  The Cleveland Mayors
topped the Bat Cracking Bombers by the slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.

Bat Cracking lost it in the 8th inning when Cleveland did all their damage
with 3 runs.  Al Rosen started the inning off right when he reached on an
error.  Eddie Collins was next and he reached on an error.  Two outs later
Ernie Lombardi came up and he lofted a three-run bomb (his 3rd of the
season).  Cleveland ended up with 8 hits for the game while Bat Cracking had
5.

Steve Karsay(1-1) got the win allowing 1 run in 7 innings. Karsay got help
from Dennis Eckersley who was credited with his 16th save.  Jake Weimer(7-3)
suffered the loss.  It was a tough loss for him as he did not allow an earned
run in his 9 innings of work.
