One run was the difference at SAFECO Field as the Sacramento Soches were
certainly pleased to stop the bleeding as their 5 game losing streak was
finally halted and defeated the Harvey Wallbangers 4 to 3.

Sacramento had the winning rally in the 8th inning scoring 3 runs utilizing 2
base hits.  Ron Santo got things going when he laced a single.  After an out
was recorded, Roger Clemens came up and he had one get away for a wild pitch.
One out later, Willie McCovey stepped in and he drew a walk.  Orlando Cepeda
followed and he lofted a three-run 'big-fly' (his 5th of the season).  Harvey
had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.

The win was credited to Don Sutton(4-5) who went 7 innings allowing 3 runs.
Dave Smith earned the save, his 2nd.  Rob Dibble(1-1) was the loser in
relief.

Sacramento's manager was in a talkative mood in the clubhouse, 'Great game! If
only we could win all of the close ones - wouldn't that be nice! Since that's
not going to happen, I think I'll savor this one for a little while.'
