Ridgeville Bandits defeated the Grand River Ghostmen by a score of 9 to 5 at Municipal Stadium. N. Ridgeville drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning with 3 runs utilizing 5 base hits. Tony Gwynn led off and keyed the rally when he delivered a base-hit. Paul Molitor came to the plate and doubled. Eddie Mathews then belted a three-run homer (his 20th of the season). For the game N. Ridgeville out-hit Grand River 14 to 10. Joe Wood(7-5) allowed 5 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the victory. Robin Roberts(1-4) was the loser. He served up 3 homeruns in his 5 and 1/3 innings. |
