He went 7 innings surrendering 6 hits and 2 walks. Overall Lake Erie out-hit Bat Cracking 13 to 7. Hoyt Wilhelm recorded his 14th save. Larry Corcoran(6-10) was given the loss. He was unable to control the Lake Erie offense and allowed 11 hits and 5 walks in 6 innings. Everyone seemed to enjoy the performance of Koufax - except Bat Cracking. Bat Cracking's manager lamented, 'He just was 'on' tonight. He was keeping our guys off balance all game. A fine game by a good strikeout pitcher - makes it a fun game for the hometown fans - unfortunately we were the visitors!' |
