The Lake Erie Mohawks tallied 6 runs in the 6th inning and had very little
trouble at Network Asc Coliseum downing the Cleveland Mayors.  The score was
16 to 9.

Lake Erie jumped on top of Cleveland in the bottom of the 3rd inning as they
scored 4 runs on 5 base hits.  The critical plate appearance was by Mickey
Cochrane who made the crowd happy when he stroked a single bringing in two
baserunners.  Lake Erie kept the scorekeepers busy in the 3rd inning when
they had 4 runs on 5 hits and the 6th inning which saw them plate 6 runs on 7
hits.  Lake Erie had many opportunities throughout the game and scored in 6

separate innings.

Tom Seaver(4-4) went 3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Dwight
Gooden(2-2) was the loser.  He was knocked around, surrendering 7 runs in 2
and 1/3 innings.
