Roush was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided much of the offense for the visitors. He lined a single in the 1st inning, delivered a base-hit in the 3rd inning, smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' (his 3rd of the season) in the 5th inning, hit a one-base hit plating a run in the 6th inning, banged out a single in the 7th inning and laced a single in the 9th inning. Limerick rapped out 17 hits for the afternoon. Vaughn(7-4) got the victory, allowing 1 run for the game. Eddie Cicotte(8-6) was the losing pitcher. He was knocked around by Limerick, allowing 12 hits and 3 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings. Limerick now has a record of 38-48. Harvey has a record of 49-35 after the loss. |
