Limerick came up with 2 runs in the top of the 4th inning. The critical plate appearance was by Mark McGwire who silenced SAFECO Field as he cracked a two-run shot (his 28th of the season). The pitchers took over after the 4th inning as neither team was able to score again. Pierce(2-2) was credited with the shutout. Greg Maddux(8-6) took the loss. He gave up just 2 runs and 4 hits in 8 innings. 'We didn't have a whole lot of chances tonight,' Harvey's manager said. 'Pierce just was too much for our guys.' |
