29,956 fans watched an exciting game at SAFECO Field.  The Bat Cracking

Bombers topped the Kelso Hilanders by the slimmest of margins, 8 to 7.

The score was knotted at 7 after nine innings.  Bat Cracking came out on top
in the 17th inning.  After two were out Jackie Robinson doubled.  Bobby Bonds
came next and he delivered a base-hit scoring the run.  Bonds took second on
the throw.  This was a game of many highs and lows for the home town fans, as
the lead kept changing - 5 times in all. 

Larry Corcoran(8-10) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2 innings.
Christy Mathewson earned the save, his 1st.  Mickey Welch(5-8) was the losing
pitcher in relief. 

Bat Cracking continued their winnings ways improving their record to 53-40.
They are 9-1 in their last ten games.  With the loss Kelso now has a record
of 40-50.
