Ridgeville Bandits, 2 to 1. The game started off with Lake Erie taking the lead in the first with 2 runs on 2 hits. George Davis kicked off the action when he banged out a single. Arky Vaughan next to the plate and he smacked a single. Joe Dimaggio then reached on an error which plated a run. After an out was recorded, Jimmie Foxx came up and he drew a walk to load the bases. Jeff Kent came to the plate and would ground out scoring the final run of the inning. That was all Seaver needed. N. Ridgeville threatened in the 9th but Lake Erie was able to put down the rally. Hoyt Wilhelm gained credit for his 18th save. |
